<puzzled smilie> - "our ways" = the normal British way of life.
Didnt think one had to explain something so obvious/self-explanatory.
"who to select in the first place" = ANYone who won't be making "special demands" for more favourable treatment than other staff.
All of which, when combined with your signature and your location = ignorant bigot.0 -

Glad you aren't offended, I meant all the hippies I know smell fine, obviously I don't know all the hippies in the world so can't say it goes for all of them.
My hippy friends and colleagues are also very tolerant and respectful of all faiths. I work with alot of hippies and people of various faiths and it is a very positive environment.Sell £1500

All the hippies I know smell faintly of patchouli.
How do they do that?0 -

I am tolerant of all faiths; I just think that Christmas is ridiculous. That is all. If it lasted one day with a couple for build up, that would be grand. But 2-4 months of complete nonsense, is far too much especially when many of the people who purport to need to celebrate it, don't believe a word of it, or even know what they are supposed to be celebrating. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. Ah well I agree the commercialisation of Christmas and the hijacking of a Christian festival as an excuse for excess is awful, not just ridiculous. Shame that the secular festival of excess can't have a different name. One day is plenty to celebrate Christmas, although I find more people seem to know what Christmas is about than Easter which seems to be a complete mystery to most people. If they don't think its a festival of chocolate then they think its about bunny rabbits.
I don't ask people why they want Christmas off but plenty of church goers seem quite happy to work if they can get to church at some point. I have one employee who is very proud of their anti religion views (he doesn't care which religion by the way - they are all rubbish.) If he is on the rota to work Christmas he is very vocal about how he needs the day off. I guess it takes all sorts.Sell £1500

Well - I've done all I can to help O.P. - and clearly it aint going down well with some.
Am not prepared to stay on this thread and get bullied myself.
Good luck O.P.0 -
I don't see what this has to do with religion.
Employee was asked before starting job if they required any time off, and employee said no.
Employee now wants time off, and can have it IF they find someone to cancel their hol.
Employee threatened to not turn up anyway, which would be a fair enough reason to sack them.
Nothing to do with religion, so no further need to bicker about it!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
