:D payday :j means a bit of a money shuffle today.

Also made an OP of £400 (that's the normal OP plus the council tax we won't be paying this month :j:j) That's bought the end date down by another month :T and I think we'll just sneak in under £136k by the end of the month.

OH has sold the old car for £700. This pays for the deposit and admin fees for his new car with a bit left over - currently trying to get him to take me out to dinner, but he's having none of it :rotfl:

He got the new car last Monday and loves it more than anything! Hopefully this means he'll continue to look after it well, otherwise I dread how much the repair bills will be!

    Hope everyone is well x

not many pay days left till you clear your mortgage Helen :j:j

I OP'd a refund cheque of £4.98 yesterday. Bought something from Lakeland which broke, emailed them and they sent me a cheque for a refund, brilliant customer service :T and less mortgage for me to pay!

Unfortunately missed my deadline for getting my dentist fees refunded (denplan thing at work) by one week.. must remember to do the forms quicker (I thought I had 6 months, but it was 3 :()

Hoping to get to under £135k on the mortgage by the end of Feb.. just need £133 to make it according to my spreadsheet. I'm on a mission!

    Jan Monthly figures
    Outstanding Mortgage = £135,994.30
    Mortgage Offset % = 14.06%
Approx. Monthly interest saved and OP'd £64.59
Mortgage Neutral Date = Apr 2028

Total Debt as present moment £116,871.62:T

No real goals set up this year, lots of people have set themselves targets but the only one i've done is more long term by joining the Mortgage Free in 3 thread again.

My target is quite scary, I didn't really think it through properly, the spreadsheet had an incorrect formula and I mis-read the end date :rotfl::rotfl:

So my target is to get to 65k owed to the world by January 2019  a reduction of £17k a year!! Not sure I can do it but better to try than not :D

So my first target is to overpay/save more than £1440 this month to keep myself on the long term track..

Off to catch up with everyone x

Opps been AWOL for a bit.. :o

Mortgage statement for 2015 arrived this morning :j I know what the figures are because of my spreadsheet but it's nice to have confirmation! I'm actually out a little bit so I've updated all the figures etc..

We've saved £853.79 by offsetting this year :j and they've reduced our mortgage payment going forward by £21 - which of course just ups my overpayment each month by £21 :D

I was hoping to have got to >£1000 saved but never mind! This year should be for definite (as long as nothing major happens)..

I was also disappointed that my mortgage statement was only 2 pages long ;):rotfl: I must split out these payments i'm making into smaller amounts..

OH has sorted British G*s out, we've been covered for free for 2 months, £50 compensation and our cover is now £13 a month. Must check he's got a service booked too... He's banked the compensation cheque this morning so as soon as he transfers the money i'll OP this too with an extra £25 just to sneak in under the £135k mark :j

    Hope everyone is well.. xx

Bit late with my update this month but I've had a few difficult weeks.. i'm out the other side though all present and correct so roll on the Feb figures...

    Feb Monthly figures
    Outstanding Mortgage = £134,784.63
    Mortgage Offset % = 14.79%
Approx. Monthly interest saved and OP'd £58.80
Mortgage Neutral Date = May 2028

Total Debt as present moment £114,851.99

    Mortgage now under £135k :T:T

I've moved some cash out of my savings offset account into premium bonds and paid off my interest free credit card as that deal is up at the end of the month..so the interest saved has come down a little and mortgage neutral date has been set back by a month. Hopefully it won't take to long to catch back up again!

It was my birthday last week and i've had lots of cash to spend on some clothes/shoes that i'm desperate for and lots of Debenh*ms vouchers :T:T I don't mind shopping as much when it's free :D

    xx
