Just missed getting under the £110k but that's ok:D
Had a word with my boss about my overtime, they denied not authorising it and no apology so I guess i'll just have to wait until next month. *shrug*
OH's birthday is in the next few weeks so I've ordered some presents and will be taking him out for dinner. I've booked a few days off work so might bake a cake, however, he's off out so i'll be left at home eating it on my own :rotfl:
Watching a really good film at the moment, The Room, about a young girl that was abducted and kept in a shed for 7 years. It's an awful subject but really well filmed/directed and very teary!

I wish i'd had read the book first Beanie, it's kind of spoiled now..
It's a strange topic to pick to write about but in the last few years there have been many similar stories in the media of abductions so it's quite topical.Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Beautiful day today until about 5 then the heavens opened up.. we've had nothing but rain, thunder and lightening since!
Managed to get some stuff done in the garden in time though so it's all looking a bit tidier. Still haven't ordered the garden furniture as it's OH's job  no idea when it'll get done, why do they take so long? We also want some long planters, to separate the grass and the patio but it needs to be 7 meters long so won't be cheap!
Can't wait to be able to sit in the garden over summer.. :T Maybe we'll get chance tomorrow before it rains again.
Money savings things done this week :- parked in town for my hospital appt and walked to the hospital - had to go to town anyway so saved me buying two parking tickets.
- reached payout on youg0v - still hasn't come through though
- found a dress in my wardrobe, never worn, that I can use for a wedding, so no new spend on clothes :T
Money Spending things :- bought a cordless vacuum
it's rubbish though so i'm going to try and take it back *fingers crossed*
- found some shoe racks that I need to buy, my shoes are getting damaged in a big pile at the bottom of my wardrobe so it's MSE in the long run
- off work most of next week so i'll be doing much internet shopping and maybe some real life shopping too
Off to catch up on diaries and surveys as I've been slacking of late..Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Enjoy your week off

Well all my internet shopping deliveries came on the same day.. and I had to cancel that day's holiday in the end and work from home as I had to get a few things done to meet deadlines, so stopping in for deliveries whilst working was brilliant!
So money spending (savings in the long run)
- approved fo0d delivery £64 - got loads of sauces, garlic, chilli and sweets
- coffee capsules £9 - had £10 free from the machine we had at xmas but had to buy 4 boxes so 78 cups of coffee/hot choc for £9
- spices £9 bit of a splurge but they will do for a lot of meals
- cardigan from Fat F*ce - £13 in the sale
- shoe rack £20 - fits in 9 pairs in my wardrobe, may have to get another one for downstairs
- bought more shares so reduced my offset once again  I just can't leave it alone! although i'm now at break even point with my shares, which is brill as they were down £1000  obviously that could all change in the blink of an eye so still checking them every few days
- took the cordless vacuum back and swapped it for a Dys0nlots more money but fantastic so far :T
- OH's birthday so I took him out for a meal, dessert menu was unappealing though so we went and got a tub of B&J's from the Co-op half price :rotfl:
This is why I hate having some time off work.. it costs more money than going to work! :rotfl:
There have been some money savings
- cut OH's hair, saves £7 a time
- payout from Youg0v got here so OP'd to mortgage
oh no that's it
Off to reconcile the accounts as it's pay day next week and hopefully there's enough money in the current account to save some this month! Hoping for a larger pay packet as I should have last months and this months overtime.. :T:T *fingers crossed*Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Payday yesterday and my overtime payment has been paid properly :j:j so that's been moved off into my savings pot...
Car went for MOT this morning and has passed apart from a new tyre so we have to pop it back up next week, the mechanic man is going to see if he can fix the door handle too so not sure how much it'll cost in all.. hopefully it won't be too horrendous!
Also done my usual OP to the mortgage of £231.58 (rounds the monthly pymt to £1k)
That's it money wise really, been poorly this week with a cold so just been coming home and going to bed pretty muchalso done about 6-7 hours overtime so that should come through next month.:T:T
xxMortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
That's a relief that the overtime has been paid ok
Hope your cold is better soonEarly retired - 18th December 2014
If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough0 -
Thanks Goldie, I still have an annoying lingering cough but other than that i'm right as rain
However, this means energy to go out spending far too much this weekalthough all considered purchases or in the case of the car, needed purchases.
So here's the confession..
- halogen oven - £25 - my remoska broke so I've been researching multi cookers/halogen ovens for a while - not great reviews for the multi cooker so got a halogen :T hopefully it should pay for itself through electricity savings
- designer handbag - my 40th birthday present from OH:D it's only took 10 weeks to decide on it.. think OH is just happy I've made the choice!:rotfl: £ lots
- car mot/tyre/brake pads - £148
- car tax £30:(
- hair appointment £65
- additional shoe rack - £18.95 bought off ebay so twice the size of the Arg0s one for the same amount - shoes are all neatly stacked now
I've not reconciled my accounts for a while so that's just been updated, a quick £23 OP made as there was a bit of extra from OH last month.
As no more OP's are going to be made i'll post my May figures from my spreadsheet.
May Monthly figures
Outstanding Mortgage = £132,552.69
Mortgage Offset % = 17.49%
Approx. Monthly interest saved and OP'd £30.12
Mortgage Neutral Date = May 2028
Total Debt as present moment £109,370.33 :T:T
Finally under £110k.. It's going to be a push to get under £100k by the end of year but best to have a goal to aim at!!:T:T fingers crossed this spending cycle can be stoppedMortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
