:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: omg that's a "good" one! Will be interesting to hear the reason behind that.ZTD wrote:I don't really expect to get anywhere. But if they come up with some amusing reason as to why the lady of far-eastern extraction on the other end of their complaints number, wasn't actually supposed to know she was on the other end of their complaints number, and hence wasn't actually supposed to be able to deal with complaints  - I'll let everyone know.0 -
When I first started up my DMP I used to just love GE. Because they eventually got the gist that I worked long hours during the week (left home before 7am and didn't get back to after 9pm most nights) their favourite trick was to call at 8am on both Saturday and Sunday mornings. Also, given that I had two accounts with them, got the grief twice times.
They did eventually accept my DMP and things have been going well over the past 2 and a half years.0 -
so far they have only called on my landline so I hope that means I have never given them my mobile number. I'm out and about for most of the day amd will will miss most of the calls from them with any luck0

Hi Looby,
I am having the exact same problem with the Halifax. I sent my letters/soa in November to them and they deny that they have received them.
I even have sent copies by fax and still no joy. they have now sent one of my accounts to a debt collection agent Legal and Trade and thankfully I have come to a arrangement with them, although I have now received another defualt notice on another account I held with them.
The Halifax are taking the piddle out of there customers and are just raking in the profits. I have come to the conclusion that they are not only irresponsible lenders but also outfaced liars to there customers also.
I have copies of the letters and have dates of when they arrived as I sent them back with my crads and cheque book and amazingly these have been received even though they were attached to the SOA!
They do not return my phone calls aalthough they insist on calling me all hours of the day and even had to complain about the attitude of there customer liason team.
I have spoke to a friend who actually works for the RBS and they have advised me that they think I should take this to the Financial Ombudsman Service. This friend works at head office level and doesnt agree with there practices.
I am seriously considering this and now after reading your post maybe we should try and get a group petition going or something. I am sure were not the only ones this has happened too.
Sorry for the long post but the Halifax have driven me to near breakdown over the last 3 months. all the over creditors have responded and I am on repayment plans and only they have not even responded to one peice of correspondence.

Looby - if you want to complain to someone senior at Halifax, I've got a useful name and e-mail address. PM me.
Crown - feel free to do the same!0 -

ITA with you about the irresponsible lending bit. I phoned them up a few months before Christmas to tell them I was having problems making payments, got very little help or advice from them and ended the phone call feeling even more desperate. Fast forward a few weeks later I get a letter from them telling me that because of the responsible way I was handling my cc account they were upping my credit limit by £400  (just in time for Christmas  ) Obviously I didn't use it, but a tiny evil part in the back of my brain wishes I had LOL
Thanks Fatbelly, I will do that

Hi, just to add after another call this morning I actually spoke to someone who actually seemed to take an interest.
Still couldnt help me as they say they havent received it but he suggested that I take the paperwork into a branch and get them to sign for them and ask them to forward them.
At least we would know they have a copy and wouldnt be able to deny it.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 297 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts
