OP = original post.
You said you were an honest man looking for help and guidance and not smart alec remarks.
But your original post sought neither and had a swipe at bankers.0 -

I thought from my original post that it was self evident that I was an honest man. When you called my honesty into question I defended myself. As far as help and guidance are concerned I thought that was the purpose of the forum. I have received some constructive criticisms and advice from this forum and I am grateful for that.
I still think bankers' bonuses are too big and 'earned' too easily,0 -
How do you conclude this:I thought from my original post that it was self evident that I was an honest man.
from this (which was your original post):Somebody I know well had a zero percent credit card with Halifax, just over £ 7 000, the bill came to £ 74. The person sent £ 70. This morning they received a bill with £ 12 added and which stated that the account was now in arrears. They phoned Halifax and the operator cheerfully said that they would waive the £12 charge but now they would need to pay interest of over £ 90 per month for the foreseeable future.
This person made a slight mistake - severe punishment. Banker makes mistake - bonus.
And:As far as help and guidance are concerned I thought that was the purpose of the forum.
Yes, it is. But you wrote:As I said, I am an honest man, who was looking for some help and guidance perhaps and not a bunch of smart alec remarks.
But you first post wasn't looking for help/guidance was it? It was more about using your friend's situation to make your point about bankers.0 -

OK Mr Catty Chappy, you think I am dishonest, I know I am not. You think I am in this game to take swipes at bankers. I know I put in the original post to try to get help for my friend. That has happened, my friend is now in a far better place. I am happy.
You too can be happy, as my feelings have been slightly hurt by your attitude and the stance you have taken.0 -

What did you mean by the three laughing faces? I took it to be insulting.
I did not feel I was being insulting in return, merely stating a fact.

Take it anyway you like. I was laughing because I thought your answer to #44 was ridiculous.0

I took it to be mildly insulting in rather a childish sort of way. You are entitled to think that my answer to #44 was ridiculous. I still think you are missing the point of this forum, that is to be helpful and informative. If you wish to destructive in this way, by all means continue, if it makes you happy.
