How can I get smilies in my text, please? They are so useful to help get the "feel" of your message across and I can't see where to get them from.

Best place to look is the Site A-Z which tells you how to use everything but a quick guide to getting smillies is go to your UserCP (control panel), then edit options and right at the bottom in misc you will find an option to change yourself to "enhanced", click on that, click on save changes. Then you will have a little white smillie with a drop down menu in the box that you use to reply to a post :j

Do you mean putting a smilie in your post like this?

As you type your message, you can 'insert a smilie' by clicking on the down arrow next to the happy smilie face above and choose from the list of 15.

Type and where the dots are in between, type the url of the picture on the web.

so this picture has a url of (if you click on the link you'll see the picture) http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B00006AUH9.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

but by placing [img]tags either side of the url gives:[/img]

If you're using enhanced interface you can just click and enter the url in the dialogue box when asked (see here)
