can anyone advise me on a laundry issue? I have a really nice cream coloured top and have just got it out to iron and it appears to have some pinky stain/colour transfers under the arms
I have no idea where it's from. Is there anyway I can bleach it out? If so how do I do it? The top was only a fiver in sale but I love it so don't want to have to bin it. Cheers

Hi flutterby, if the stains are only under the arms it sounds as if your deodorant has reacted with the dye used to make the top cream-colour. Not sure what to suggest, sorry, unless maybe a stain remover would help....
Hi all:hello:Sorry I'm not posting much these days, though I do read the thread; still get tired quicker than usual after my op in August and trying to get on with my OU work and catch up with all the household stuff I wasn't allowed to do for several weeks . I'm meant to go to a tutorial in an unfamiliar part of London this afternoon but I'm not quite up to that yet. I walked to our local shops for the bread and papers earlier and it wore me out

JackieO - Well done Henry!
Hester - i remember seeing the ads for that in the paper and thinking "Ouch!"
Sorry i think that'll have to be all for today, except to send best wishes to everyone who's ill. And welcome to the newbies! Oh, and while I think of it, OH and i both had our flu jabs last week and he was fine but i felt unwell for a day, that's never happened before but i remember a couple of peeps on here saying they were unwell afterwards too, must be the particular strains they are using this time but it's still a lot better than a dose of flu:eek:
best wishes

I'm at my parents' in birmingham and it's freezing here- but i like itIt's getting me in the mood for OS activities, I've dug out all my wool and stated knitting, and made rowanberry jelly with cloves which my sister loves!
I'm considering suggesting to my mum that we batch cook some meals for my nan. She likes cottage pie, mac n cheese, stew etc and usually buys ready meals but wants something more fresh tasting. She's looking at having meals delivered weekly but they cost £3 each and I know it would only take us a few hours once every few weeks to do and we'd do them to her old recipes. Does anyone do anything like this for a relative?Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -

Afternoon all
Thanks for your thoughts re the hens, no sign of the missing 2 but I went to look yesterday and there were 2 eggs in the nesting box! I think next door's hens have been laying in there. Long may it continue! I wont be getting any more at the moment, if at all, as it would be unfair to risk their lives at the moment with a fox about. Don't think I could cope with that again.
Anyway, not much happening today, OS wise just the washing and usual bits and bobs, need to have a good clean tomorrow when I feel more in the mood I hope. Had a late night at work last night as one of the women I work with fell up the stairs and hit her cheek on the top step. She was feeling dizzy and sick so by the time the first aider came and we organised transport home it was about 12.30.
Watching the Great British Bake Off final, still good even though I heard who won.
Well done to Henry
Good news about the date FB
Hope everyone is well, take care. XX0 -
Afternoon all,
I'm so late posting today, I have NOT stopped which hasn't helped my foot in the slightest
DD has theatre school on a sat morn which is usually fine but as I'm not allowed to drive and it's located at the other end of town (it's a huge town 10 mins by car but at least an hour walk just to get there ) we decided to take the bus :rotfl:
You might be thinking why is that funny??? I haven't used public transport for a very very long time, DD has never even been on a busI was shocked at the cost £2.80 return which I had to pay twice to take her and collect her, I couldn't hang around as there is no cafe etc near. I now understand why so many people drive, I no petrol is expensive but it would have only cost me about 50p there and back, if that!!!
So I nipped around the shops inbetween and went back on the bus to get her and back on the bus home  I've spent about 2 hours waiting for buses today :rotfl:
I was really wishing the bus could take me to my door, the pain in my foot was very intense by then!! So now I've just had a cuppa and a rest before I put tea on. Tonight we're having Pizza, chips and garlic bread from the freezer as I'm so tired!!
I have done no os whatsoever 2daybut no plans for 2moro so if the foot allows it I will be on a mission then.
Hugs to all in need, X Factor tonight woohoo xxxMarch grocery challenge 147.28 / 150.00 :j

...Islandmaid well done for dumping Sky its going to put an extra almost £500 in your household funds in a year ,Thats a nice lump of cash.I keep getting things through the letterbox about Virgins Tivo box but I really wouldn't have the time to watch half the stuff if I 'saved 'it.I have a basic Virgin cable package that is more than enough for what I want I got it several years ago and when they started to try and increase it to almost double the amount I phoned them up and said take it away and frantically they offered me a £19.50 discount for six months to stay and I have had that ever since
:) so mine doesn't cost me a great deal and If I want to watch the history channel (my favourite) or something that catches my eye then its only costing me about £3.50 a week I think I must have slipped through their net as its never gone up since
:)
...
notjustlaura Have a bit of an easy day today after all your entertaining relax put your feet up and just be a couch potato for a change
...
I hope the rest of you have a fantastic weekend 11 weeks tomorrow is Christmas day frightening thought isn't it I have bought one present so far my mind seems to have gone to mush .My eldest DD is very good though and gives me lots of ideas. She has not only done all of hers but they are wrapped and labelled.Far too organised that one;) I used to be but this year I just can't seem to get that interested at the moment I think its far too early and it makes you feel like your wishing your life away IYSWIM....
I did put my feet up, thanks Jackie. Actually, I went back to bed and snuggled with the boys for a few hours. We snoozed and half-listened to Radio 4. And I ate the remains of last night's pudding ... but we'll not talk about that!
I'm thinking about getting rid of Sky. I only have a basic package but so rarely watch the non-Freeview channels it just doesn't seem worth it. I do like my Sky+ box though and need some kind of satellite signal and decoder as there's no terrestial aerial on the building and we can't have cable. I shall talk to D about it at some point as he's good with technical things!
Eleven weeks to Christmas? I really didn't want to hear that! I have a present shelf in the wardrobe and have been putting things in there over the year but didn't make a list so have no idea what I've got or for whom it was intended. I obviously need to pull it all out and see what's what ...Household: Laura + William-cat

I don't recall them being there before I washed it. I don't own a red jacket only worn it with black which is why it's so odd. Luckily they are hidden if I wear a cardi with it. Will try stain remover tomorrow.
I had a lovely lunch with the family. My brother brought his GF, she is way nicer than the last one! My parents paid for the mealand my nan gave me £50 towards my holidays
Home now for 2 hours befor the wedding, outfit sorted just need to paint my nails which I'll do as soon as I've put laundry on airer.
Gutted I'll be missing Strictly and X Factor though, will catch up tomorrow
Have a good night all
