Morning everyone
Overcast, windy and much cooler here today. DH up and off to his all day meeting, means myself and the boys have the house to ourselves. DS1 up and watching the rugby, DS2 on the xbox - both had brekkie. I got up early with DH as I needed to get my car out so I wasn't blocked in by our friend's car who has gone to the meeting with DH today!!
DW now on as last night's dinner dirties didn't get put in, so came down to a manky kitchen  - remember now why I've been making a conscious effort to at least get the DW packed and put on and give the kitchen a quick S & S each evening - was nasty!! Will be getting a shower then brekkie shortly - hopefully will feel a bit more human then.
On the OS front still haven't put the heating on - but not that warm to be honest so don't think it's going to long before we have to.
Will be baking/cooking shortly will be making some twinks, choc brownies, maids of honour, pastry case (for quiche for a future dinner), need to make a batch of pizza dough for boys lunch - they're having HM pizza. Dinner last night went down quite well, the prawns were all eaten - and the plates were clean think everyone enjoyed having something a bit different. Need to decide what to have tonight DH getting a 2 course cooked roast at lunch time so he probably won't want a big cooked meal, so need to plan something suitable for him.
Was reasonably productive yesterday, did get housework done, ironed everything that was dry enough, so will do the rest today, and will try to get the boys uniforms etc which were washed last night dry on the line - it's a bit overcast and dark but if they get nearly dry I can iron them later and put them in the cupboard with the boiler so they are dry and aired. Must crack on otherwise I'll be on here all day and nothing will get done!
Have a great day everyone, hugs to those that need/want them, take care.

Morning All
Woke at 6:30 this morning which is my usual get up time but laid in bed til nearly 8....I'd love to be able to sleep in but I just can't! I did have an early ish night last night so I got what I needed!
Need to get the house into some sort of order today as we've been decorating so it feels like everywhere is upside down - Girls room looks great tho! We're working on clearing the kids old room of junk now so that we can move into it and DS-S can move into our room (which is the smallest). DH is working today and I think he should do nothing tomorrow as he's exhausted but hopeully by next weekend we'll be ready to switch around.
Online shop came last night, (ordered early coz I wanted alcohol in) meal plan is done, WM 1st load done, Kitchen OK-ish just some dry clothes to fold and put away - floor needs a good clean but I need a new mop (my excuse...sticking to it;))
Have a Mystery shop to do today which will take an hour and tomorrow I have 3 to do but one means I can get a nice piece of jewellery for DH's sis who turns 30 later this month
Have a good day! xClimbing back on the OS wagon after a short vacation to Recklessness

Good Morning everyone, its a bit of a chilly one compared to last week-end, but I don't mind that as I want to give my sitting room and bathroom a bit of a whizz around and then lug my vacuum upstairs to do the bedrooms.
esmf73 I do hope your migraine eases, my eldest DD Shelley suffers dreadfully with those at times and make her really very poorly
daisiegg You sound so pleased to have your OH home I'm sure he will appreciate the welcome
Islandmaid well done for dumping Sky its going to put an extra almost £500 in your household funds in a year ,Thats a nice lump of cash.I keep getting things through the letterbox about Virgins Tivo box but I really wouldn't have the time to watch half the stuff if I 'saved 'it.I have a basic Virgin cable package that is more than enough for what I want I got it several years ago and when they started to try and increase it to almost double the amount I phoned them up and said take it away and frantically they offered me a £19.50 discount for six months to stay and I have had that ever since:) so mine doesn't cost me a great deal and If I want to watch the history channel (my favourite) or something that catches my eye then its only costing me about £3.50 a week I think I must have slipped through their net as its never gone up since
:)
HH I bet your DD thinks she's got the best Mum in the world. Its rotten when you seem to get a run of things breaking down
Moorhen make sure you have extra layers on as watching is a chilly business as your standing around Take a flask of coffee to keep you warm if you can
bramble1 Isn't it nice to have a tidy place Thats what I intend to do today as i'm not going to go to the shops as there's nothing I need
notjustlaura Have a bit of an easy day today after all your entertaining relax put your feet up and just be a couch potato for a change
moiliere it sounds as though you have the right idea as I love nice warm comfy feet in the winter.I can't bear my feet to be cold. My brother who lives in Villefagnan has a wood burning stove type fire in his house and gets a whole 'cord' of logs from the local village once a year in the winter after that he has to buy them but he does get quite a few free as he helps to look after properties for folk whose main residence is in England and they always say to him if he needs any wood and its dead then help himself So his woodpile is always very well stocked by this time of the year.
I hope the rest of you have a fantastic weekend 11 weeks tomorrow is Christmas day frightening thought isn't it I have bought one present so far my mind seems to have gone to mush .My eldest DD is very good though and gives me lots of ideas. She has not only done all of hers but they are wrapped and labelled.Far too organised that one;) I used to be but this year I just can't seem to get that interested at the moment I think its far too early and it makes you feel like your wishing your life away IYSWIM.
Well time for breakfast I think a couple of nice boiled eggs and wholewheat 'soldiers' should get my engine running this morning
Have a good day chums

Morning everyone.
Just finished scoffing my porridge with sugar and cinnammonThis is why I love the colder months, so nice to have a warming and filling breakfast. Still no heating on here but not sure how long I can hold out, DS was complaining he was cold this morning
H's new 125 bike comes at some point today so no doubt he will spend most of today drooling over that and learning how to ride it (it's a manual and he's used to an automatic). I have to go to Costco as I have some meat and washing powder vouchers that need using up. I am going to try VERY hard to only buy the bare minimum. It's been a VERY VERY expensive month and had to fork out a further £40 on vet visit for the cat the other night as I thought she'd got something stuck in her throat. Seems OK now and is eating properly, worry a bit due to the sorts of things she likes to eat
Rest of today will be spent trying to catch up on missed housework, WM to go on in a sec and duster and vac needs to go round upstairs.
Pizza for the kids for tea, might do H and I a HM chicken burger or something with wedges.
Hugs and spoons all round. Have a good day OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
morning!
chilly here but no heating yet! the others here dont feel it anyway it usually just me with my Reynauds that suffers. Fleecy blanket on the bed, fleecy PJs and a wheat bag and I was nice and ssnug last night - I sleep so much better in the colder months.
Weekend off for me:j DH is home at lunchtime then he wants to watch a bit of racing on tv before we pop to MrM's - got a voucher to use up - £6 off a £40 spend which is more than our usual 10% off from DSs discount card.
Strictly and X Factor tonight!
So far today I've cleaned downstairs and also miltoned the worktops in the kitchen. I've stripped the bed and the bedding is in the WM.
Just need to make it back up and do some ironing later.
Going to make some vegie soup in a minute for lunch - got some YS veg leftover from last weekend so will see what I can conjure up.
(((hugs))) to all those with bugs - Esmf - hope the migraine goes soon x
have a lovely day all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning all,
Bit grey looking here but a bit of a breeze so I have a wash on the line, one in the wm and another to go in, should get mostly dry today.
OH is at the boot sale, and dd still in bed, will let her sleep a bit longer, she is doing so much work at college she is shattered by friday, so a lay in will do her good.
Dinner tonight is a steak sandwich, with a creme fraiche, garlic and mushroom sauce, OH will cook, why is it men only like to cook steak and BBQ :rotfl:
Need to hoover through and tidy this morning, and I ordered some new shelf clips for my new bookcase, so the shelves can be put in, and I can start to fill it.
We are going to go this morning to an Architectural salvage place to have a look for mirrors for the bathroom, I want two and cant find anything I like, we also need to gat more paint on the shelves and the door, and a couple of finishing bits, have been putting them off, so will try and get done today.
It was very chilly here last night, but I am holding off with my heating for a while longer, do not want to give those greedy energy companies any more of my money than I have to, blankets and warm socks for now
Well done to Henry on his results :T
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning All
Welcome Slowdown  the more the merrier.
Spent 3 hours peeling onions last night and they have been brining overnight in colanders in the sink, the house reeks of them. DS says it smells like low level tear gas :rotfl:
The jars are in the oven sterilising as we chatso I will rinse them and jar them up in a little while so that is another OS Christmas job done :j All the chutneys, onion jam and jams have been made so my larder looks very countrified. I want to try Pam Corbins Chestnut jam recipe thiis year so I will do that as soon as I see some chesnuts about.
I will soak the fruit for the cake tonight and make it tomorrow.
Well I must get the jars out before they crack.
Have good days all xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Morning all
Got my mum visiting us for the weekend, She suffered a cerebral aneurysm in January this year where we very nearly lost her, it has caused disabilities (No feeling on her right side so cannot walk and she has speech problems ) but she don't let it get her down, I am so proud of her and she really is a joy to have around so I love it when she comes to visit.
Anyway... just got to have a quick tidy round, make the beds, put the WM on and prepare tea then I'm off down the Harbour with mum and DH for a cuppa and some seafood sticks!
DH has just gone to collect a bayleaf tree off freecycle I have always wanted one so was well chuffed when the lady offered it to me.
Had to adjust my meal plan today so we are having HM Mushroom soup for lunch & Cheese and potato pie for tea with Apple crumble and cream for afters....
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend....xOctober grocery Challenge
