  • The £90 fee is the court fee you pay directly to the Insolvency Service, and that is all you should pay. No genuine company will charge you anything else other than the court fee. Competant Authorities are not allowed to charge anything on top of the DRO fee.

Here is a list of competent authorities (ie agencies who have Approved Intermediaries who can complete DRO applications).

With high demand for debt advice at the minute I think you'd be hard pushed to find anyone that would do it in less than 3 weeks, which is the standard time it normally takes to obtain a postal Experian credit report nd ascertain all balance/account details from creditors...

True...but I did use the experian on-line facility last week and got a DRO approved 7 days after the client attended for interview. We needed to block some bailiffs. I'm just boasting really. Most take at least 3 weeks.

The slowest part of the process is usually the client getting the £90 together

Very true. I've done one same day for a client who had everything together, including printed up to date credit report, money and latest creditor's letters and proof of income - which was nice!

What online facility do you use? Where the client accesses their own online report/free trial? We're using a new online thing alongside the normal forms where the client gets sent a passkey in the post a week or so later then we can access their online report...

Yes, the new online thingy. Mind you, it's more work than the paper version and on the two occasions I've tried it, my clients have had trouble reading the passkey to me as it's usually something like

and the system is only faster because they can post a passkey faster than a full report. I don't see any technical reason why that should be the case.

No me neither. I don't understand why they can't set up an online system that we can do with the clients there, and to be access their full report instantly like they do on the normal website themselves!
