Are you saying you have to sign for them? Thats a bit annoying.

It's true! They use the least flexible courier company ever. They will re-deliver to your workplace but if you are up in an office building, they may or may not call you to come down depending on the mood of the delivery driver. And MBNA refuse to send by normal post.
You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.

That's your experience but it's a generalisation which may or may not apply to others.

FWIW, my MBNA cards only come in the post.

If you're unsure whether your card is enabled for Contactless, just check for the RFID-type logo on the back. On mine, it's next to the Bluetooth logo near the signature strip as in this photo:

I wish the nectar cc were contactless. March feels ages away haha. I end up using my MBNA card most of the time because of it.
  • Is the gold card contactless? I'll ring AMEX tomorrow and ask for one (a replacement).

Phoned up Amex after reading this thread and now have a replacement contactless Platinum charge card, and BA Premium Plus Credit Card on the way : )

Just seen this - my BA PP card sent about two weeks ago doesn't have contactless!

Plus it's annoying because if I have it in my wallet with my oyster card, putting my wallet on the oyster card reader no longer works!!!! Grr contactless, more trouble than it's worth.

Line the part of your wallet that your AMEX goes in with tinfoil.

Bob's your auntie, Oyster works again and no risk of anyone stealing the RFID details of your AMEX card :o
    Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Or make yourself a complete RF-shielded wallet:

    That should do the trick.
