I spent £2.42 today on lunch. Not a healthy lunch by any stretch, but lunch nonetheless.

Buuuut, my exciting news is that I binned off my Egg Card this evening. It's been zero since last april when I transferred the balance, and while I just ran about £120 through it in the past week or so (for convenience), it's zero again, so I called them up to close it.

Now normally Egg is quite expensive to call, but through https://www.saynoto0870.com I found the geographical number, and calling through 1899.com the nice ladyvoice said, "zero pence per minute" as it dialled through so it didn't even cost me to close it. Haha Egg you suckers.

Not sucker so much though, because I'm thinking of applying for an Egg Money card to use for the cashback. I figure I might as well earn 1% back on everything I spend, so why not? Anyone got one of these?

Also, March 1 is when I pay off that HBOS card that's in my sig. I've got all the money ready to go, but I want another 2 month's interest on it (it's in my savings) which may only be a few £££ more, but hey, it's free money, why not?

    Hiya
I spent £1 on parking, but can claim back on expenses.
HOWEVER - DISASTER!!! got a parking ticket which will be at least £30! I was just stupid and completely forgot to get a ticket, pondering the bad news that we are going to have to get rid of our car at a loss! it's broken, needs a new imobiliser system which will cost almost £1000, was planning to sell it for around £1500 and pay off some of my credit card debt, but it just broke last week Arrrgh!

    Well, today has been the 3rd NSD in a row!!!!!:money: :j :j

However, long-term it will turn out to be a very expensive day:mad: . The wind has blown off part of our lean-to roof (and the wood is also rotten on it) so we're going to need to ultimately get it rebuilt!! Also, we've got a leak in the roof of our house, which is going to need scaffolding erected in order for it to be fixed!!! Plus 2 fence panels have broken (although not sure it's our responsibility to replace them!)

So...short-term it was a good day spending wise, but is going to end up costing us dearly!!!!!

Did really well today and resisted teh vending machines at work knowing I would have to confess on here :rotfl:

However after a horendous journey home from work due to the weather I couldnt face making tea so called for a takeaway making my spend today £11.55 :o . This is where I really fall down as I had loads of stuff in the freezer and cupboards to make a meal and it would have taken me the same or less time to do as collecting the takeaway did. Need to make sure I am prepared for the days when I work so that I dont waste money needlessly on takeaways.

I think this is going to be a big eye opener for me as I have just realised that between today and yesterday I have spent £25 on two evening meals:eek:

Anyway main shopping day tomorrow but going to really cut back - may have a root around in cupboards and freezer to see what I have and what i can make before going shopping so do a bit of planning
