Between these 2 sites you should find everything you need.0 -
Public perfomance (which use on commercial and business premises is) is not covered by a TV Licence. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.

no idea, no 1 said anything either. Someone else had they're own radio and used that, 2 people used spotify(1 played bbc radio 1 over the internet) and someone else played kerrang radio so maybe yes there was a licence already in place(be amazed if they had 1 though).
yeah, lots of businesses don't that should. Is very hard for the PRS to enforce.0 -
Not very often I hear a radio blaring in garages nowadays. Now I know why.0

Yes, unfortunately you need a PRS license and a PPL license. We've just purchased these for our small business and the cost was £44 per annum for the PRS and just over £100 per annum for the PPL.
The PRS is billed in terms of number of members of staff working in the premises (and the £44 is for 4 or fewer staff), and the PPL is calculated on the area of your premises (in sq mtrs) - ours is about 63 sq mts. I know that if it's 55 sq mtrs or less, it's much cheaper or possibly even free.
Both organisations make it very tricky for you to work out what you need. This is done on purpose so that if you enquire, they have to tailor the quote to your organisation, thus knowing that you have, or would like to have, a radio and therefore need their licenses.0 -
The requirement for a PPL licence is about to be revoked for workplaces and small entertainment venues.0

Shirley the key word here is "public".
If there is just you in your office can hear it then you don't need a licence.
If you have a colleague in an adjoining office then just turn it down.
Alternatively use 'phones or earbuds. Many MP3 players incorporate radios.
Put another way who's going to know?

There was something about this in the local paper that a garage was warn about it.. Because more than 4 people working in the garage they needed a licence... so i assume that if you have less than 4 people then it should be ok... I use to work in a warhouse where we have music and radio was on all the time... Director said that the company dosnt have a licence but because we had it on for over 30 years he said he the getting caught would only make up for the cost the should of paid over the years so not worth it...0
