Radio licence at work - do I need one?

Good morning all
The small business I work in is moving premises soon and we will be looking at playing the radio, it will only be a radio in my actual office or off the iplayer on my laptop and will only be played to me, and occassionally a colleague who works part time in the office next to mine. The other 3 staff members have offices out in the warehouse so wouldnt be able to hear what I am playing.
Therefore do I need a licence and if so which one and where from?
We dont have customers visiting the office and as I say it will only be for me to listen to.
Thanks

Google PRS. http://www.prsformusic.com/users/businessesandliveevents/musicforbusinesses/officesandfactories/Pages/officesfactories.aspx It'll cost £44 per year to be able to play copyrighted music in an office.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Thank you for that.0

I have a radio in a one-man office occasionally playing to one man - me.
The PRS site suggests I should have a licence, but I won't be getting one.
I always choose to comply with the law, and generally choose to comply with regulations, but there are limits.0 -
They are now multiple people/organisations claiming you need licences from them , so you had better up your budget a bit.
Ps it is not the law, it's a civil matterHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
In my office all 7 of us listen to the same radio station at the same time. But we all use headphones, in the same way that some people have a TV to watch DVDs only.0

Where i last worked i bought my own radio to play at work, never occured to me i would need 1. I thought it was ok since it was just us in the workshop who could hear it.0

isnt it covered under the licence for a computer ie the tv licence at a property?0
-
Yes you should - but maybe your employer had a licence which covered you?
no idea, no 1 said anything either. Someone else had they're own radio and used that, 2 people used spotify(1 played bbc radio 1 over the internet) and someone else played kerrang radio so maybe yes there was a licence already in place(be amazed if they had 1 though).0
