    Morning all,

Bit grey here today, I am off to work, dd is off to college but not till later on as she has a later start, she got asked out yesterday, and got so flustered that she said yes ( when she did not want to ) and then spent the whole afternoon trying to put him off by text, I have told her that we need to practice her saying no :rotfl:

Work today and I need to pop in and see dad after, I have not had a chance to make him any cake so will have to buy him one.

Dinner tonight is meatballs with pasta. My shopping from Mr S turned up 3.5 hours late last night , no phone call or nothing, when I phoned head office they told me not to expect it as there was a problem and the shop had shut, anyhoo it turned up just before 10 last night, and I got a £10 voucher :T, poor delivery chap was new, and had got himself into a right fluster, OH was out there helping him sort out the back of his delivery truck, there were bags everywhere, god knows how we got all the correct shopping.

OK better get on, have good days all xx

    Morning everyone

Overcast, windy and much cooler here today. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.

Yesterday was a difficult day as expected but I'm glad I went to colleague's funeral, it was very different to any I've been to before and she would have loved all the outstanding flowers, the tributes were beautiful and so fitting for such a lovely lady. There was a good amount of us colleagues and her husband said he was drawing so much comfort from our love and support.

Have several jobs to do today will just see what I can get done, this morning I need to go to the bank, food shopping, then home to tackle the housework, washing, drying and ironing, cooking/baking - so quite a bit to be done but will just do what I can. Can do some more tomorrow if needed as DH out all day at a meeting - would rather not be doing it all tomorrow though so I get some time off. Have noticed that if I don't menu plan properly finish up doing top-up shops and spending more money - have also not been doing as much baking/cooking as normal so have menu planned for next week again, and will be baking/cooking as HM is so much cheaper. Dinner last night was HM lasagne and HM bread, menfolk had chips with theirs I had salad with mine - had 2 good portions left of lasagne so have got that in the freezer - will use that as a HM ready meal at a future date. Tonight will be something a bit different, I have a frozen prawn ring in the freezer that needs using up, so will defrost that, will then be cooking chicken, and having a golden rice dish and corn on the cobs to go with it all - will just put it all on the table everyone can help themselves - bit of a mix up but a change to what we normally eat. Must go and crack on.

Have a great day everyone, hugs to those that need/want them, take care.

    Morning all

Windy night here! Sounded like the world was going to end

I went to see the remake of Footloose last night (free tickets :D), it was very good. A feel good movie that cheered me up!

Today I'm meant to be covering for a colleague in West Wales, but this involves a 2.5hr round trip in car and then driving round in minibus when I'm there. TBH I'm still feeling a bit wobbly after my vertigo spell yday so I'm going to pop to my office for an hour and see how I feel and decide then. It won't be the end of the world if I don't cover for the colleague, and i don't want to make myself ill.

I have the 2nd date tonight :j We are going for a drink and then to a late-ish showing of a horror movie. Wish me luck!

OS wise - Ummmm..... I really shouldn't be posting here this week :o :rotfl:

    Have a good day all

    Hi everyone

Camelot - so sorry to hear about your hens.

Jackie0 - history club sounds really good, not dull at all!

Well, after a cool grey couple of days, and heavy rain (which we needed, TBH) yesterday, it's lovely out there now, so I've whipped the sheets off the bed to make the most of the drying weather. Of course, that now means that I need to dust and vacuum upstairs, and I might as well do downstairs, too; at least it will all be done for the weekend. I have bread dough rising, so that will need knocking back soon, and I need to make a salad for dinner tonight. We're going out for the evening so I need to make sure dinner is quick and easy. We have some leftover plum crumble which will do for pudding.

My printer (an Epson Stylus SX600FW all-in-one) has started printing everything with a pink tinge; I've asked on a few forums and tried head-cleaning. It could be the Cyan cartridge, apparently, so I'll change that later and see how it goes.

Well, I'd better go and get a bit more housew**k done.

Have a good day, everyone, and hugs to all in need.

Camelot so :( about your hens. I've always wanted to keep chickens but we can't where we live now.

    Morning all.

The electrician came and our shower is now working again. He wasn't here long so hopefully the bill won't be too big!!

So I'm now free to be out and about and not have to stay in waiting. I have to go to the cash machine and get money for DD for her weekend out in Glasgow:eek:. I am having a NSD foodwise but OMG a teenager soon spends what you save. Thank goodness they have wangled lifts and don't have to pay for train fares too. I'm making her get the bus home as it's about £5 instead of £15 for the train.

Will have to get my ebay bits packed up and posted this morning and then am seriously thinking about going out on the bus to town for a bit of a mooch and then meeting my OH from work and going for a lovely treaty alcoholic drinkie in the cheap bar in town. I think we deserve it!!

Have got my washing out on the line and the DW is on.

I also have to go and feed my BF's cat as she's away for 2 weeks and I'm pet sitting.

Hope everyone has a good one.

Sorry I have speed read today. Am going to be up to my eyeballs in fondant icing this morning as we finish off my grans cake. Not much OS going on.
DS in tears this morning about going to school, wet himself by accident, having issues with another little boy (although some is down to DSs misinterpretation of reality :o) so all in all not a great start to morning. Thank goodness it's the weekend nearly.

No idea whets for tea, H is working late again.

    Hugs and spoons all round.

Camelot sorry about your hens xxx

    Morning all,

    Drat just lost my post.

Camelot sorry to hear about the chickens:(
Flutterbyuk, good luck tonight, sounds exciting:D

A NSD for me as I look after DGS today. We shall do some baking, buns and biscuits and continue with the potty training, its very hit and miss and as been hard with him going backwards and forwards between mum and dad.
They have decided to give it another try and DD and DGS will move back on Satruday. I really hope it works but will wait a few days before moving DS back in his room:cool:
Lots of washing today, its brightish so fingers crossed most of it will dry outside.
Tea tonight will be gammon and eggs.
I enjoyed The Great British Bake Off masterclass last night, Paul Hollywood can come round and knead my dough anytime:rotfl:

    The house is sparkling!
Door man in here, bigger job than he thought because he didn't actually ask to see the inside of the door! Needs a whole new frame, - i could have told him that, if he'd asked! Pup keeps going downstairs to stare at him through the gap in the door :rotfl:

Need a bath, but out bathroom is downstairs, near the front door and has no lock  so think a trip to my mums is needed instead... Will head out in a minute.

Oh hahahah think i flashed the door guy too by accident. :rotfl:

    Morning all :)

Those who have read my posts over the last week will be happy to know that moaning minnie has left the building and I am feeling much more positive.

Got some scary pills from the emergency doctor yesterday (tranquillisers for dizziness?!) and despite the harrowing list of side effects (I am not to touch them too much because I could develop blistering of the fingers, and I'm certainly not allowed to drive) they seem to be starting to do the trick as I'm already feeling a bit better.

Just did a supermarket order and got all the ingredients for my Christmas cake, which I will make at the weekend, so really looking forward to that.

OH is back tomorrow morning! haven't seen him since last Friday morning so I can't wait. 8 nights apart feels like a long time. If I feel up to it later I'll whiz the hoover round to try and make the place look presentable for him and I'll definitely be having a long soak in the bath and doing various grooming activities to make ME look presentable for him. I'll probably be too excited to sleep much tonight so I'll make sure I have a nap this afternoon.

Looking forward to a nice weekend at home with OH, cooking yummy things, doing a little bit of marking to get up to date and I'm actually feeling really positive about going back to work on Monday. You can tell the pills are having an effect as earlier in the week I couldn't contemplate the idea of ever going back to work again!

WM is on and as I have spent the week basically in pyjamas, the basket is now empty. OH will come back with a couple of pairs of jeans, some underwear, a set of gym stuff and probably 5 shirts (his suits get dry cleaned) so that will only be one load to do this weekend. I got all my ironing up to date earlier in the week so I have stuff to wear for work next week and he has shirts. Apart from needing a very quick hoover and the kitchen surfaces and bathroom done, the house is still very clean from last Saturday's mammoth session so I'm looking forward to a weekend of rest, relaxation, fun cooking and spending time with OH :)

Hope everyone is feeling ok today (so sorry to hear about the hens :( ) and is looking forward to the weekend as much as I am.

Thanks to all who have read my moaning rants over the last week and given me positive comments!

    daisie xxxxx
