Could someone explain why when Banks only repay £8 + 8% on mis-sold PPI on O/D when since Sep 2010 they bumped uip their O/D Interest to 17.5% - 19.3% when previously it was about 10% which at least more in line with the 8% interest.
Why arent they being told to pay a higher rate back at least for the time they have been charging the Higher Interest on Everyones O/D
My Friend and I asked for the copy of His O/D PPI which he thought may be about Jan 2007 but didnt specify - this he was Pressured into accepting on the phone at 9pm at night after frequent hassle phone calls and when it arrived yesterday the Start Date on this one was 1/1/2010 Not the one we are after - He didnt know anything about this one - When he was made Redundant Oct 2007 he went into Bank to stop all D.D.s to pay Outside Loans Manualy and said to Staff Member " I've been made Redundant shouldnt I get something on this - I wont get Redundancy money for 6 weeks so no money and was told "You dont qualify " which he believed but it wasnt explained why so he said Cut it off and thought it was until I showed he was still paying 4 years later to date.
Having looked at the T&C on this one the only thing that could have been meant by Staff Member is that it might not have been showing then that he had signed on, but was never explained just walked off.
I will be phoning Ireland Wed for an explanation of this later PPI and to get the Start Date of the one we wanted
I know this looks a daft situation but the trouble is that he doesnt understand things unless they are explained very carefully and tends to cover it up unless he trusts you. So gets taken for a ride left right and centre all the time.0 -
Has anyone on here had this happen to them.
My Friend told me Mon morning that he had a text on his mobile on Sun at 2.40pm -read it and without thinking properly after dozing deleted it so didnt have the phone number - the text gave an Estimate of £2,660 to be reclaimed on PPI - this was pure coincedence that he will be doing this but the amount is vastly different to what I have Estimated as best possible scenario - I phoned his Advisor in Dublin on Mon where they are digging for his documents and she felt sure it was a Scam call as I suspected from one of these Claim Firms pot lucking mobile numbers - So now I have to burst his bubble and try to let him down gently. How are these gross businesses allowed to get away with this.
Has anyone on here had texts quoting a similar amount.0 -
he text gave an Estimate of £2,660 to be reclaimed on PPI
random figure designed to play on your greed. It has no basis in reality at all as your information is not in the public domain. It is actually more than twice the average redress payment. So, a complete lack of honesty in the text message. How are these gross businesses allowed to get away with this.
Given the volumes of complaint and buckets of evidence of mis-selling by claims companies, it is surprising that it still happens and no-one has looked at it.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
