NGP Parking Charge - They Ignored My Appeal, Now What?

FURTHER UPDATE ON SECOND PAGE 16/12/11
Hi all.
Last month I had to stay away on a business trip for one night, and my work paid for an apartment for me to rent in Cardiff. When I got there, the allocated parking space my works gave me (which they confirmed was correct), was occupied with another car. After driving around looking for alternative spaces to park, as well as trying to contact my works, or anyone that could help, I had no choice put to park in a disabled space as i was going to be very extremely late.
The next morning I wake up to find the same car still in the allocated space, but a parking charge on my car. We then tried to contact the person who my works rented the apartment from, but they have either ignored us or not helped which is rather suspicious. I do not personally have their details as my work arranged all this themselves.
I then contacted NGP to make an appeal, explaining the situation. I contacted them by email as advised in the letter. I did not receive anything back until today where I have now received a physical letter threatening me to pay a whopping £150 compared to the original £65?! They have obviously not acknowledged my previous email, and so I recently just emailed them again to express my disgust at this, and also that I will be getting my solicitor involved.
I have just had a search online a few minutes ago, only to find people saying that these private companies almost act like cowboys, and that I should just ignore any of these threatening letters, and NOT to contact them. However I have contacted them twice now.
I am not sure where things are going to go from here now, and looking to see if anyone has any advice on this, and possibly what my outcomes may be? I don't believe I should pay this charge.
To make matters worse, I was recently involved in a serious car accident, lucky to be alive, but the car is now a write off. And my insurance company are causing me grief, so I really don't need this!
Anyway, thanks in advance for any help and advice.
Cheers all!

This being a private parking company its safe to just ignore them. If its a company car let your bosses know this is not a REAL fine, its just a begging letter with no legal basis.
ps, I know it was difficult but don't park in a disabled bay if possible, its frowned upon.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
Loss suffered by landowner would be zero, ignore the PPC they are only in it to make money from contractual penalties0

Just ignore the letters completely. Read up on the scam. Specifically, read the sticky info threads by Crabman (top of this forum).
Look at the Watchdog clip and the letter chains thread, and please do not panic that you have already written telling them who was driving (a common silly mistake - there is NO APPEAL, it's just a phishing exercise for therse scumbags!). Nothing will happen except letters.
It's easy to understand what this is if you read the info we have here.
Just ignore the letters completely. It's a scam so do not reply to them now. And next time do not be so quick to believe what 'looks' like a PCN. Only a Council, TFL or the Police can issue a real penalty parking ticket.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks all! Been having a quick read of these forums. Although the majority have not been enforced, I have just read of a person who receive a parking fine from NGP, which he appealed, sending letters back and forth, fine increasing, seeked help from solicitor which cost around £650, and lost his case. So it's worrying me a little if I ignore this! I will try and find the link.0

Not heard of that one can you link to that as it wold be interesting to see where they went wrong. This is such a rare thing, a bit like rocking horse poo. You will still be safe ignoring as there must have been such a rare set of events that it would not occur again, that or a setup by a private parking company.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Why on earth would anyone pay £650 to a solicitor when the original ticket was £150 odd. Any link?0 -
