Is it just me that thinks the test on the fuel jobs for GFK is rediculously long?
Yes I agree, it took me ages to get it right, did eventually though:j
  • Hello everyone,

I have been looking into mystery shopping and have a few questions, it would be really appreciated if someone could help me with the answers.

First of all, I work full time and am looking at doing this on my days off or whenever I am available, so as a estimate (and i understand it would be hard to estimate) but what kind of extra income am I looking at a month? £20?

Also, I am totally lost on the whole "self employment" issue with mystery shopping. If I am going to be a mystery shopper do I need to register as self employed? Does this affect me being taxed on my full time income? Also does it involve a lot of maths with paying taxes because this is what is worrying me.

I know it sounds like I need spoon feeding but these are just a couple of issues that are worrying me and I'm sure once I have information on them I may have a better footing.

    All help is appreciated.

    Thank you

The tax information is on the first page of this thread.

No-one can give you an average of what you would earn as it's totally up to you what you take on, given your own time constraints and location. You just need to register with the various companies and see what you would/could do then work it out.
  • I have read the tax part on the first page.. that is what I don't understand

Er, yes, you need to be registered as self-employed. You tell the tax office and then fill in the relevant section of the Self Assessment Form. You need to pay National Insurance contributions, unless you apply for a low earnings exemption certificate.

The taxation is separate to your PAYE, which is handled by your employer.

The only maths is working out how much you have earned in the appropriate tax year, minus your expenses and then fill in the form.

Mmmm don't you just love getting some nice mega juicy fees out of companies when they are desperate! :D

I've been fairly quiet for the last couple of weeks or so and don't have a lot booked for the next couple of weeks, but the bonuses on the visits today and in the next couple of days will cover the amount I aim for and budget for over the whole month for November :D Kerrrrching

Yup its good! I treated Mr S to a drive to a town he used to live in about 20 miles from where we live now, a wander around the Castle and along the river this morning all paid for by a Gap bonus, followed by a RE pub meal. Guess who has mega girlfriend bonus points today. ;)
