Thanks for the congrats with the betting win. Certainly worth the trauma of doing 3 of them in a week when I was poorly and creeped out by the pervy pervs!
I absolutely lolled at the ff floor show bit with the balloons! And agree with the 'work clothes' thing... I often try to do MS foodies in my work clothes, trying to exude 'I'm on a training day and I need a receipt for work' but on the other hand I feel I stick out like a sore thumb compared to the rest of the clientele!
This week I'm hoping for a quiet one... got the anniversary dinner () and seeing We Will Rock You tomorrow night, just a couple of websitey surveys to do for eDigi and I'm all set

In regards to people ballsing up jobs... call me a snob, but I've always wondered how bad someone's had to have done for a reshop/revisit to be required!
This is the problem with people thinking its a quick get rich job and sign up and take on work, when in reality they may not have any skills, like common sense or ability to read and follow a brief, to do the job !
it dilutes the work for those who can, reduces fees, as there is a large amount of people chasing the same jobs et (2nd rant over :rotfl:)
I had to work hard to "tidy up" after that job with the store management and reassure them, and I sent a lenghty cover note to the allocator, reminding her why she should continue to offer me jobs first in my region rather that give them to others... thankfully she agreed, but reminded me I had turned this down first time round... I said should have offered me the higher fee the first time round then
and if that person, is a member here, please do yourself and us all a favour and have a word with yourself and find something else to up your income.0 -

No, I was not joking. I thought information such as which mystery shopping company represented which client, would be too confidential to be on google.
I've sent PM's to people when I have been able to help them out. The OP wasn't asking to be 'spoonfed'. If anyone didn't like their question, just ignore it, rather than snapping at them.0 -

I've heard some horror stories! Some from MSers who are also proofreaders, some from people who have managers in stores that get MS'd.The times I've not had a floor show have generally been when I've dressed in business attire.
Never had a floor show and I never dress in business attire. Maybe it's region specific and my city don't care lol.
Although I do think if you getting spotted too much then it's worth laying off the jobs a bit. I know Boyoboy1986 mentioned doing this for the DIY jobs. When I went to meet with the burger company and gap for a conference they had some managers there who recognised some of the shoppers and they admitted they knew who they were and their husband too. They even went as far as saying that they had a nickname for their husband (apparently he looks like Santa)! The burger manager manager was not impressed at all and I suspect the shoppers were banned from burgers shortly after. Sounded like the two of them used to complete a lot of the shops in their local area.0 -
Hi Guys, i'm a new MS and wanted to ask a question about Gap payments - i have searched through the previous thread for almost an hour so please don't shout........
I just wondered if anyone else still has not received payment yet - i saw someone saying they got paid on the 5th Oct. I have not received any payment or notification that payment not being issued - though i did get an email asking if i wanted to change my report for a ff company as it wasn't a good experience for one of my assignments.
Do they let you know either way if they are or not paying you? I am booked in to do another couple of assignments this month but don't want to do them if i'm not going to get paid!

I occasionally get floor shows in Gap burger places but not on a regular basis. Quite amusing when they do happen though. I don't wear business dress either.
Am heading slightly further afield tomorrow and so chances of being spotted in a phone shop are hopefully low.0 -

When did you start MS for Gap? The payment at the beginning of October was for work carried out in August - Gap do take a while to pay. Some other companies pay more often which is good for the cashflow0 -
The payments people have just received were were completed August jobs, which should have been paid around 25th Sep.0

Yes this is for August jobs - i did 2 in august and not hear anything yet - i was expecting the payment end of sept but realised it was running lateDebt at Aug 2010 (LBM) £21,908.86, Debt Freeeeee Date 4th Nov 2013 :j:j:j Massive Thanks to the £10 per day thread :A Next goals:Savings £1203.16/£10,000******Mortgage to Zero: £52,579.46 to go

Well other than check that your correct bank details are on your profile I can't suggest anything else other than email them as you should have been paid by now. Hope it's sorted out soon for you.0
