I went to Seacr0ft last night and managed to find an Iomega screenplay TV Link

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/ScreenPlay-Directors--Quality-Multimedia-Warranty/dp/B003US40AA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1318432615&sr=8-2

It was on the shelves for £79.99 but scanned at £9.19.

Just to say thanks to OP. And also to alert NI shoppers (if you did not already know) but I managed to buy a canon ixus 105 in my local tesco for £50. Cameras and other electrical items where not reduced in my tesco stores when it was initially posted on this thread. They are now plenty of canon, samsung and panasonic for around £50-70.
    HTH any NI tesco shoppers

Which NI tescos was this in?
    That's the one I'd get
  • just been to my local tesco shopping, spotted a vax air vacuum sel stated £149 from £199 end date 4-10-11 so grabbed quick took through till and scanned at £199 so £50 overcharge, went to cs and she went to look after a while she returned and said manager said it is a slightly different model but would honour 149 i said no as bar codes where the same i had checked and she still said no to dd so i said would go check, and guess what they had removed label so i returned to cs and said label had been removed so she said she would go back to speak to manager, after about 15 mins she returned with very young manager and he said yes i was right and would give dd, (i had taken a photo of sel for back up if needed but thankfully didnt need it). When i have got home my husband doesnt want the hoover he prefers dyson so does anyone know where i stand on a refund(cs lady has wrote on top of reciept that i paid 149 for it and also circled price and wrote next to it 149) will i have to give back the dd or will they just refund the 149 that i have paid for the hoover?
Sorry for essay bit long winded but would be grateful for any advice, should i take it back to a different store and does it have to be an extra that sells electricals or does it not matter, thanks

i had a similar problem to this on some air compressors that i got DTD on to..... in the end up, the person i baught them for, didnt want them, .. so i was stuck with them and had no use for them myself....

i called up Tescos customer services and told them of my situation and the very nice gentleman on the end of the phone told me to just take them to a customer services instore and explain what had happened, and i would be entitiled to a full refund.... i was unsure of the amount i would be refunded, as i had received DTD on the items, so in effect, paid nothing for them, and the trout who did the DTD wrote REFUND all over my receipt....

i explained all this to the man on the phone, and he said that it does not affect (effect?) my statutory rights and i am entitled to a refund...

i asked what would i be refunded, and he said that it would be the amount i initially paid for the item as the DTD is a seperate thing... i re-asked and re-asked and he was adamant of this...

i was slightly nervous upon approaching the CS desk (i did travel an extra 6 or so miles to go to another Extra Store though instead of returning to the store i baught them from) - when i explained the situation and said that if there were any problems, then a bentleman called 'rob' from customer services told me that it was ok to return, and i had no problems what-so-ever.

i received the full amount i initially paid back without even asking...

    here is the maths -

    SEL was 11.50, I paid 23.00 each. i baught 3 -
    got DTD of 69.00
returned to another Extra store, and got refunded 69.00.

    hope this helps.

  • thanks for replying so quick i think i will send me oh tomorrow to another store for a refund, hopefully all will go well thanks again will post what happens:beer:
  • lol.. i always send the OH when doing DTDs... haha...

i would suggest going to another Extra store though, as i think they have to stock the item to be able to refund..... or another alternative if they wont do i t, is to take it back to the original store (or another Extra if you have that many close to you) - say that you cannot find your receipt, and they should offer you an exchange for something from the same department (id guess at electrical)
maybe woulth ringing customer services up beforehand too like i did, the guy i spoke to asked which store i baught from and where i was returning to... could be to inform them beforehand to stop any confusion.... best way to approach it is with a calm, aloof, and a little bit scatty approach.....

    hope this helps. x

i had a very long ongoing saga with same situation with a DTD on some phones my parents didn't like, they insisted they wouldn't refund without the original refund/overcharge reciept because it wasn't clear on the original reciept how much i got back (original price was £60 DTd was £120) i bought 2, several long upsetting conversations with Ho who said only refund you are entitled to is the original "sale price" ie the price on the original label that you thought you were going to pay:mad: crazy isn't it, when i said what if i couldn't find my original refund overcharge receipt they said bring in bank statements which i def wasn't happy to do.

I wanted my full refund .......so went to another store where they gave me a full refund without question.

I have had several refunds on other items that found out after were no good, had refunds no problem -all depends which trout serves you on that day. I would say if you are unlucky try another store

  • lol shinestar i always try to look scatty and a bit daft oh an innocent, i will try and find another extra near me and get OH to take it back there fingers crossed :j
  • Provided the current price when they waft their wand over the barcode matches the price you 'paid' on the receipt, you shouldnt have too many problems. Its when it differs that the CS get confused and then start to question how much you should or shouldn't get.

I took something back today and was given a full refund without question despite having had DTD on the original purchase.

It makes no odds to tesco really, they have already paidout DTD on their mistake, if you then take something back for a refund they simply sell it to someone else. You guys do like your drama sometimes! lol
