  • Thanks Tahlullah and norfolkdream! :D

Nothing to report on the mortgage front today....but I have realised that by the beginning of the new financial year, my mortgage balance should be sub 40k!!!:j Very, very pleased with this! :D

Can't use the washing line today.....weather is miserable and I am going to have to get some washing done so its back to the td :( Oh well, at least I am using the line when I can!!;)

Made a pasta, lentil and cheese sauce bake yesterday for dinner and realised that I have very little pasta left!! Looks like I will have to spend a day next week making loads for the stores...fortunately, I still have stacks of pasta flour so at least there will be no outlay! ;)

Sowing of seeds is definitely going to be a job for Saturday morning.....dh went to get the compost last night but they are going to be on offer from today so that plan went kaput! I am feeling very impatient now...it will have been three weeks since we started sorting the greenhouse by the time I get anything sown  it's driving me nuts!!

Oh well, onwards and upwards!! :D

Thanks Tahlullah!!:D It feels like its been a long time coming but just goes to show that regardless of the inevitable disasters, every overpayment helps make a difference! ;)

TT of £2.88 today.....bringing the grand TT total for March to £4.74.....that is just over a day's interest so got to be happy with that! :T

I have an interview for the part time job that I have applied for next week!!:j Very happy with this, it's a three days a week thing but financially, it works out as well as a full time position as I won't need to buy a car or pay out for additional petrol costs.....plus, I will have four days a week to do whatever I want.....keeping everything crossed now that I get it!! ;)

Sis was over at the weekend....she bought me some poultry shears and a couple of 'practice' chickens for me to be getting on with! :D I used to joint chickens all the time and it has ended up saving me shed loads of cash in the past, so incredibly grateful for my gift!!

I'm intending to do a huge coq-au-vin with the legs, shred a couple of the breasts for fajitas and leave a couple whole to have wrapped in bacon and stuffed with pesto and cream cheese....nomnom!!

I have finally planted out some seeds too!! :j I now have tomatoes, butternut squash, broad beans and potatoes on the go as well as lots of sweetpeas.....must transplant the salad leaves tomorrow.....can't wait for the first spring veg to make an appearance now....I have started to really crave what I classify as 'clean' food....winter comfort food is lush but does make me feel sluggish after a while :o

Right, waffle over, I need to go and make my corned beef and potato pie for tonights dinner....what was it I said about winter comfort food??!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Fingers, toes and other bits too rude to mention crossed for next weeks interview!

    Feel sorry for the chickens...

  • Thanks Tahlullah & LGP!!:D

Have had a good day today....MOT came in at £50 :j, I have cleaned the house top to bottom, done three loads of laundry and dried one of them on the line (still doing towels in the td as I like them fluffy!!:o), walked the pooch, jointed my two chickens and put them in the freezer and had a little snooze!!:D

Nothing further to the mortgage, but I am hoping to be able to add a little more by the end of the month....hopefully, I will get the job and this will be the last month that it's hard to reach the target....

I'm off out tonight to see a friend so dh is going to be sorting his own dinner from the fridge...plenty of lo's in there for him to be getting on with, so hopefully I will be able to clean out my fridge tomorrow!!;)

Planning on a quiet weekend at home....ds is away until next weekend and dd is away till Tuesday - I'm hoping that the weather forecast will be right and I can spend some time in the garden.....think I may push the boat out and have a bottle of wine tomorrow night too!:D

Hope you all have a great weekend

ooh good luck with the interview, I used to work 4 day weeks and then got a new job nearer to home and compromise on working 5 days. I do miss my day off. but I do only work 5 hours a day.
    Fingers crossed for you :D

Hope you have a nice relaxing weekend in the glorious sunshine :)

  • Thanks nd!:D

Weekend turned into a full on garden fest....absolutely beautiful but ended up doing loads of work rather than relaxing...
However, enjoyed it immensely and very pleased that the work has been done...;)

Had a chill out day on Monday to rest my aching bones and then spent yesterday rushing around with dentist and vet visits, taxi service for dil and getting some much needed shopping for toiletries as I got to the stage yesterday morning where I was down to finishing off my 'travel' stuff as that's all I still had!!

However, I have stocked back up now - I have no brand loyalty and generally only get stuff when it's on offer from my bulk purchase pot cash...thankfully, there were some pretty good deals in t*sco & sainsbugs yesterday on shower gels and hair products so I should be okay for the next three months!!:D

I am struggling today to get motivated for anything...I really need to get my act together and sort out the house, plus I have a couple of letters to write but all I can be ar*ed to do is lay about and watch tv .....

I think I feel exhausted as a result of having to take the hound for her jabs yesterday _pale_ ....I can't cope with the vets at all since I lost her brother - even though they are all really lovely and I completely trust them, my fear that I will be told something hideous overwhelms me....seriously, I barely slept on Monday night because I was so worried about it, I know that it is irrational but don't seem to be able to get past it....:(

Anyhoo....onto other stuff! I have not been able to pay anything further to the mortgage recently which is a bit of a downer.....I am going to have to pay something more before the end of this month - even if it's just a few quid - as I am starting to get withdrawal symptoms!! :rotfl: I have decided that this site has made me a crazy obsessive woman - at least that's my excuse!!;)

  • I got the job!! :j:j:j:j

I am ridiculously happy :D By the time I came out of the interview I was desperate to get the position....the people who interviewed me were really lovely and we clicked immediately.....got the call this morning to tell me I had been successful and they are calling me later with start dates etc :T

Had a lovely weekend too..... watched the rugby on Saturday and after taking the pooch on a ten mile walk first thing, I spent the rest of yesterday in the garden as the weather was so beautiful :D

Nothing to report on the mortgage front and now that I have the job I need to get some suitable clothing and shoes ready for my start date so probably won't be putting anything more to it until April....however, once I am earning again I intend to clear as much as possible as soon as possible...hopefully I will be in a position to increase my target for the year in the next few months!! ;)

Right, time to go and clean the house....then make the most of my last few days/weeks of freedom!!! :rotfl:

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)
