Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Thursday 6th October. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
I managed to spend most of last night in bed & not on the sofa, I'm really bored with coughing now & of the accompanying headache.
My living room is full of teddies in various stages of repair & every evening I flit between repairing the teddies & crocheting blankets.
It's time I made a start on breakfast & packups.
Have a good day everyone.
Hug Hester

Morning Hester, Bargainbird and everyone else - do hope you're feeling better soon, Hester xo
Been up since about 5, done ALL the ironing, cleared out cupboard under kitchen sink and sorted some hand-me-downs from our children to a friend's.
Persuaded DS (19) to get his a*se out of bed to watch DD this morning so I can go into town ALONE - got lots of bitty jobs to do, including getting a couple of storage boxes and going into CS - both of which are hard to do with a toddler in a pram.
Very windy here, rained a lot overnight, too, but not really cold. No washing going outside, will have to go on airer as I've used the TD a bit this week already!
Have a good morning all, hugs and kisses as required!

Morning Hester, Bargainbird, Cheapskate and all who follow,
Hope you get well soon Hester.
Really busy day today. Have to go to work all day and then back again till 9pm as we have a sixth form open evening, I wish these things were a bit more spread out, we had the year 6 open evening last week and we have a year 13 parents evening next week. Oh well, it pays the bills!
Not sure what I am having for tea tonight, I have made a pasta bake for the children and OH can have the last of the chilli, I think that I will probably grab some peanut butter on toast.
Happy birthday to your DD Bargainbird.
Hugs to all that need them.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -

Bit cooler here this morning, but still very mild for October :T, hopefully the heating will stay off a while longer.
Work again today, fish cake chips and beans for dinner, nice and quick and cheap too.
Need to do a wash tonight, and I have my shopping being delivered.
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning all, before and after!
Busy day yesterday results in a clean and tidy larder and a Mr S delivery today. I'm also waiting for Santa to come. My parents have very kindly bought the boys a new activity centre which should be delivered some time today. I'm really looking forward to seeing their reactions to it.
I think the streetlights may be off now so I shall let the boys out to the loo and see about my breakfast. The DW is on and the WM won't be far behind it ...
Hope everyone has a good day.Household: Laura + William-cat

Today is cooking with DS2 and tidying round ready for DS3 to vac as no cleaner again:(:(:( It's a situation I have to deal with but she has been with me for so many years. Anyway onwards and upwards xx
Have a good day my OS friends xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Woken up by howling wind but seems to be a little more settled now. Unexpected day off with dd today sought get a few extra jobs done.
Very sad to see the news of Steve Jobs' death on the news this morningPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Morning everyone
Overcast, windy and much cooler here today. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.
Dinner last night was delicious lamb casserole with dumplings, mash, and veg. Think I'm going to make lasagne this afternoon and a loaf of HM bread to accompany, DH and boys can have chips with theirs I'll have salad.
Watched Pride of Britain last night always makes you realise how lucky we all are.
Boys now ready to leave for school/college. Need to go and get myself sorted as going to colleagues funeral today, meeting my other colleagues at work so we can take as few cars as possible and we're all together. Not sure how I'll feel when I get back - so may or may not do very much for the rest of the day.
Have a great day everyone, hugs to those that need/want them, take care.
