    smoked haddock chowder is lovely! I vaguely follow Jamie's recipe but I have everything in the freezer, apart from new pots, so it only takes about 20 mins.

    SMOKED MACKEREL PATÉ

    Serves 2

    INGREDIENTS

    2 smoked mackerel fillets
    2 tablespoons of butter
    1 teaspoon of lemon juice
    ¼ of a teaspoon of ground black pepper

    METHOD

    Pull the skin off the fish. Break the fish into flakes.

    Put all the ingredients and 1 tablespoon of the butter into a bowl. Mash it together until it is spreadable. If it is not spreadable, add a little bit more butter of the second tablespoon of butter until it is.

    ADDITIONS & ALTERNATIVES

    If you're using smoked mackerel fillets with peppercorns, omit the ground black pepper.
    If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)
