mmlh wrote:hello, was wondering whether some more experienced tesco.com shoppers can help me? i placed my first order for yesterday and it was a bit of a shambles.
-i booked a 10am-12pm delivery slot, they arrived at about 4:15pm, didn't receive a phone call to say that it'd be late as detailed in the help section of tesco.com help page.
-i didn't have to sign for the delivery and wasn't given a receipt or similar for the goods (the driver spent ages looking in his van and couldn't find anything.) has anyone else experienced this? i heard sainsburys give a £10 voucher if they're late, do tesco do something similar?
-also, i ordered 44 ink cartridges and received only 34 but all substituted with much more expensive ones (which my driver did not tell me about), could they have missed out the 10 to balance out the value? and would they bill me for the price of the more expensive ink cartridges that i have now?
all in all, this was not the online grocery experience i was expecting and will think twice about doing it again. last of all, i used a 500 points voucher on the order, do these get added on to my balance straight away or on the next clubcard statement?
sorry for all the questions! and thanks if you can help.
I would call customer services and complain. That really does sound like a pretty appauling experience and I have complained for alot less. In the past, when I have complained, I have had money back for damaged items, items that were perfectly fine but not suitable for my youngest son (multiple allergies) and always get my delivery charge back. As for the points, mine always show up more or less striahg away, within a day or 2. I can't compare to any other online deliveries, but I have been using tesco.com for more than 6 months and they have never once been late and once came a little earlier than expected (which saw me running up the road after the driver, children in tow :rotfl: )
I may still complain that I thought I was expecting my delivery last night between 7-9pm, but when 9pm rolled around and still no delivery, I checked online to find my entire order still sitting in the basket even though I had checked out on Monday. Turned out the  card protection thing had stopped my order from going through when I just closed the browser window instead of filling it in, as it wasn't mandatory the previous 4 weeks I had done my shopping . Shopping has now arrived, with no subs for a change, but now the clubcard deals page is not working properly and I want to book our holiday :rolleyes:0 -

I had this problem when I first got my credit card. I gave the helpline a ring, and they joined my original bog standard tescos points card to my credit card ...and the points were on my next statement, showing which ones were from Tesco Personal Finance.
A few days after ringing them check your points balance online at tesco.com should have your points added.0 -
Regarding ordering things from MFI, how does it work with the vouchers? Do you pay in full with the vouchers at time of booking or pay a deposit and the rest at a later date?
Is the min order value £500 now? Presume that is after discount?
Thanks0 -

Sounds like you have two seperate accounts which you'll get two seperate statements for. You'll get it by the end of the month.
Witht he credit card, there are some different ones that give you different points. But generally you get some points for using the credit card, and if it's in tesco you get the normal 1 point per pound you spend as well.
Some credit cards it is 1 point per £2 spend, 1 point per £4 spend, or points for the amount of interest you are paying.0 -

Firstly, don't get me wrong when I say this, but Tesco don't guarantee to deliver within the time slots you select (read the small print!). Things can and do happen which makes things late - system problems meaning the store don't get your order, drivers not turning up, vans breaking down, vans getting involved in accidents, traffic delays, weather problems, etc etc.
But ask and 99% of the time you'll get your delivery charge refunded. I'd say your is almost a certainty - 4h 15m is late (which believe it or not is quite unusual!). You won't get any compensation except in extreme circumstances.
You'll get a replacement set of documents through the post a few days after the delivery. If the driver hasn't sorted that out when he got back to the store, then call up and they'll get another sent. Again, this is probably due to printers at the store not working (maybe cos you bought all the ink?).
As for the ink, I'm amazed that you got 34. Sounds like you print a lot of stuff. Putting my moneysaving hat on, I'd say you should get a continuous ink system (about £20-30 or so) and then you can buy ink by the bottle... far far cheaper. Anyway, technically the limit for quantity of single items is 5. Maybe someone else had ordered all of your preferred ink and that they supplied the only ones they had left? Again, call them and they will sort out refund but with a lot of them will probably arrange for them to get picked up.
Points vouchers should go on in a few days.0 -

Late last night ok I mean at stupid o'clock in the morning. I decided to do an online Tesco shop. Armed with my clubcard vouchers, I went into a site called mysupermarket.co.uk as recommended by Martin recently.
Great site, you do your shopping as normal and then import it into the store of your choice, in my case Tesco, it then points a few bargains based on what you bought and you save money, fab.
I imported my trolley to Tesco online, which is where my troubles begin, had a bit of difficulty getting to delivery page and then all hell broke loose. Tesco website was absolutely awful to use, it kept taking me to a page that said 'sorry there has been an error'.
Being stubborn, I kept changing from Firefox to IE and back again, in case it was a browser problem, I had real trouble entering my clubcard extra points vouchers, it just would not accept them for some reason. In the end I cleaned all my cookies with cleanup and ccleaner, rebooted and it let me enter my clubcard vouchers slowly, though I had to carefully type them out at least 3 times each before they would go through without the error page appearing. All very puzzling as they were only sent to me a couple of days ago, so could not have run out or anything like that...
Then I tried to pay, oh no it did not like that, I literally tried 3 times in one browser, then 3 times in another, repeatedly quite a few times, it would let me get to the card page, and verify visa, I'd think yay, finished, then no 'sorry there has been an error' facing me. I kept checking my online bank account and email in case the payment had gone through but no it hadn't. In the end I got so mad I fired off an indignant email using their help pages, then thought I will try one more time and guess what finally suceeded in finishing my shop on the Tesco site!! It took me over an hour longer than normal to do my online shopping:eek:
I have been shopping at Tesco online regularly now for around 2-3 years and I have never had so much trouble as last night. I would love to know what is happening with the website and if anyone else has had any issues lately? I have always been able to input codes before without too much trouble, but I notice its getting more and more difficult.
I hope Tesco realize that they are making the shopping experience unneccessarily confusing and awkwardly longer and uncomfortable, and they are so going to put people off if they carry on with this policy.
Tesco please sort out your website:mad:I always wanted to be a procrastinator, never got round to it...0
