    Thanks for all these replies. We got sorted with a fully furnished studio apartment for £375 which he is very happy with. Contrary to popular opinion there wasn't many flats to see at this price in the city centre, we went round several estate agents and they told us to snap this one up ( even though it wasn't on their books) as it was a bargain and they had nothing to show us. It is only a 6 month contract so it gives him time to find his feet and look around for something else if he needs to. All these replies really helped with the search . Thanks.

    I'm really glad you found somewhere nice. It'll be a lot easier to find a bargain once he's settled in and knows a bit more about the area.
