You need as much support an possible micheal.Yes,you have a mental illness,so do many others.
People on the internet reply to a post in an instant, lets hope they,or their family, never experience what you have. But then, perhaps it would make them kinder, more understanding people.good luck.
Maybe some of us have experienced debt problems due to mental health illness, and know that reinforcing the negative thought patterns the OP has is not at all helpful?0 -
Also naive to infer people with mental illness should just pull themselves together.
I dont see the OP has asked people to agree, but neither has he asked for sympathy.
It can be quite difficult to "act in a different way" with bi-polar not fully sorted out i imagine.
Your comment about alcoholics is so simplistic.OP hasnt suggeste banning gambling,as far as I can see?
I dont necessarily agre with OPs points, neither do i feel the need to beat him with a stick.Discuss.If you don't leap, you'll never know what it is to fly :heartpuls0 -
So you're an irresponsible gambler who wants gambling banned, and an irresponsible drinker who wants drinking banned?michael1983l wrote: »Yes and I am a heavy dribker. I would not like it at first but I bet I would look back in 10 years and say how much of my life was wasted due to drink.
I've got no sympathy for you whatsoever, because both of those bans would affect me, despite the fact I enjoy both of those activities responsibly. Why do you think it right that I should suffer just because YOU can't keep yourself under control?
YOU are the problem, not the bookies, or the doctors, or the pubs. The sooner you man up and accept responsibility for your own failings, the better.0 -

Where has anybody told the OP to pull themselves together (except in the post after yours)?0 -

You don't appear able to quote these 'pull yourself together' posts?0 -

It's essentially the same. Most people who partake can do it without becoming hooked. A small percentage do get addicted. We should therefore make available help for those who need it, but not make it illegal and deny the vast majority who enjoy it safely.duckeggblue wrote: »Your comment about alcoholics is so simplistic.duckeggblue wrote: »OP hasnt suggeste banning gambling,as far as I can see?michael1983l wrote: »Thats why it should not be legal at all, there is no way to protect the vulnerable who need protecting most so in which case it should just be outlawed as it is in many countries accross the world.Competition wins: Where's Wally Goody Bag, Club badge branded football, Nivea for Men Goody Bag0
