No money for Interview
Comments

op - could you borrow some money from a relative or friend?
in matalan currently they are selling shirt and tie sets for £6 and trousers in the sale for as little as £9 - I think it would be perfectly acceptable to simply wear smart torusers and shirt and tie for most positions and then take an "out door type jacket" which you remove for the interview
my son did this and successfully landed a permanent position with our local Council
good luck0 -
Instead of just having a go at the posters whom you perceive as not being helpful, why not acknowledge those posters who have posted advice and let them know whether their suggestions have been helpful or not?
Skibadee asked what type of job the interview is for.
It might be helpful if you answered that instead of just picking up on the negative posts.0 -
You could ask the Jobcentre if they still have the Advisors Discretionary Fund. You will need proof of an interview date though.0

and yes, Im aware that it may not be a genuine post however your comments on a public board will undoubtedly get to someone who is in that situation.Salt0

no, it wasnt.
It was deliberatly patronising. Im pretty certain that the individual would know if they had any suitable clothes for an interview. They came on for help and were mocked by a self rightous, pompous sanctimonious pr1ck. Anyone who can use someones situation where they are bothered about being able to afford some clothes, just to score some cheap points is an utter cretin.
The OP left a job this April... https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3302478 ... It would be reasonable to assume that he
a) Earned some money.
b) Secured it via interview.
So he must have had interview clothes at that stage, or bought some clothes with his wages (or tax refund he mentions), so the obvious question is where are they now? It's exactly what the Jobcentre would ask.0 -
