oh dear, OP doesn't like to hear how it really is, I would be doing you no favours by saying what you want to hear, which is yes you can quit your job and get JSA straight away, no questions asked. Because it doesn't work like that!!!

Your poor family, that's all I can say...

What have you done in terms of taking steps with your employer?

Are you in a trade union, have you spoken to Acas?

Could you be moved to a different role in the company, could you go part time until you are feeling better.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Maybe your lucky enough to have a decent working environment , but unfortunately I'm not , I'm not going into great detail incase you decide to make more of a mock of me than your already trying to do , but maybe just try looking at things from outside your own goldfish bowl ?

Hi , I'm not in a union , and like many places it's the senior management who are causing the problems .
As far as part time it would be just as bad whether it be 16 or 44 hrs a week .
And the only other role I could do , would be office based ( no experience)
And as I'm out on the road it would bring me closer to all the problems.

Are you sure it's the working environment that's the problem? if it is, then take steps to try and rectify it instead of running away.
Speak to them and see if something can be done, ask to be moved, talk to the union if you have one, etc etc.

I haven't "made a mock of you" by the way.
Just seems the only person your thinking about is yourself, what do your family do if you quit and they have very little income, sometimes you have to be a bit selfless in life, it aint just about you...

I am actually thinking long term , what do my family do when I end up a zombie on anti-depressants with zero chance at all of finding a new job.

Could you explain a little about what is causing you stress?

Regardless of whether you are in a union or not, you can still raise a grievance with your employer

I've not been looking for another job for the last 10 weeks , I've been unfit for work , now I'm feeling better , but I'm not going back to square one again.

Being unfit for work isn't the same thing as being unfit for job hunting. If your stress is work related then it should've stopped in the 10 weeks you've been off; if it didn't, it was likely to have been caused by something other than work.

There's no reason whatsoever to think that you'll be a zombie if you're on anti depressants; if you are, you're on the wrong ones for you.
