wot-a-mess debt crisis

Hi Debs, Thanks for dropping in.
Spent £15.60 at Asda tonight...Almost choked.... but we needed bread & cold meat. Also bought some aperitifs for the weekend plus poor student DS going to a party so bought him some beer
All I seem to do 24/7 is think about debt-busting... it really is getting a bit obsessive. But hopefully one day it'll all be worth it.
Also reading thro other diaries, etc., it looks as tho many people lose a bit of momentum, motivation, whatever & have relapses or give up the debt-busting. It is quite understandable cos life in Britain these days is not cheap & everywhere we go everyone seems to want to take our money. so financial pressure is everywhere.
Iam very determined indeed to see this through. Iam sure there'll be setbacks but Im gonna give being debt-free one helluva go.
Reading diaries like Beccie's just proves that with determination & creativity debt can be busted.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekendPay off £14,000 in 2012 Challenge #21 (incl. mort.) £15,960/£14,0000 -

Obsessive indeed - Woke up this morning thinking about debt-busting but in a positive way.
Checked current a/c & 2 CC payments due tomorrow taken out yesterday. I just hate banks . Debt has now reduced by over £1k but with the dreaded xmas round the corner debt-busting is defo gonna slow down a lot between now & year end, but hopefully can get it below £36k then start next year with a real vengence to hit the debt.
Don't wanna wish my life away, but can't wait to get xmas out the way.Pay off £14,000 in 2012 Challenge #21 (incl. mort.) £15,960/£14,0000 -
Busy week ahead at work but still need to focus on debt-busting. Should have 3 or 4 "no-spend" days cos plenty of food in the fridge, freezer & cupboards plus since LBM now spend £0 on alcohol midweek & not much at weekends either. Hopefully can also make a few extra £s this week but may struggle for time due to work demands.
Hope you all have a good debt-busting week aheadPay off £14,000 in 2012 Challenge #21 (incl. mort.) £15,960/£14,0000 -

Thank you for the 'mention'!
I think it's easy to lose your way sometimes - many people who I talked to on here when I first started have disappeared. That's life though I think. Some have also come back which is great!
I think my wavering was going to Borneo for 2 months, although in a way that also kept me going.
I think it helps to have a reason - my end goal is what keeps me going towards being debt free as I want that much more than I want to spend money now!
You're doing really well on the cutting down spending WAMDebt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
Very busy with work this week so nothing much happened with debt-busting but have only spent a couple of £s as well. When toothpaste & deodorant run out replacements need to be purchased. Money may be tight but still need to keep cleanPay off £14,000 in 2012 Challenge #21 (incl. mort.) £15,960/£14,0000

Just been looking at budgets for xmas & new year, etc. & it's gonna be pretty tough financially between now & year end
But looks as tho defo light at end of tunnel come next spring (hopefully). 1/3 of debt repayments go towards a bank loan which shall be cleared next april.
Struggling to make any extra £s just now tho. very busy at work :wall:Pay off £14,000 in 2012 Challenge #21 (incl. mort.) £15,960/£14,0000 -

Hi Beat, Had a long think about xmas today & have decided to change plans. Originally was gonna try to clear as much debt as possible then buy everything the week before xmas, but that would mean a tough January.
So gonna buy everything within the next few weeks which means that I can start Jan. with a real push on debt-busting. Plus have a stress-free DecemberBut debt shall still decrease between now & year end plus xmas shall be paid for. Plus of course waiting til the last minute means that a lot of the sought after items are gone & the pressies bought can be a bit of a waste.
Xmas ain't just gonna go away so just gonna attack it head-on, get it outta the way, then smash a good bit of debt in 1st 6 months of 2012.Pay off £14,000 in 2012 Challenge #21 (incl. mort.) £15,960/£14,0000
