Mr LW has agreed to the idea very readily; I just feel guilty dumping yet another task on him..... and, if I'm honest, still a bit shell-shocked after the psych nurse the other week asked if he wanted a "carers assessment" because of the strain of looking after me.:( He said No, but of course it's set me off thinking I must be a real burden, but he's too nice to say so.:( *turns round and kicks BD in the goolies*
Maybe HE doesnt think you are a burden or a strain and that is why he doesnt want the assessment. I bet he thinks the only thing that makes it harder is you try to do too much and wont listen when your body and everyone who cares about you are saying you need to do less and rest more
Could you speak to him about why he didnt want the assessment.. see what he says?LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

ooooh this looks like a good thread to join to get my house in order!
Moved into a brand new build 1 year ago in August and it just doesn't feel much like home, just a place that always gets messy!
Will look on with intent next week!

Tomorrow I'm going to a museum far away with 179 children
179? One's bad enough!

I have no idea what the AO's problem is - perhaps she gets grief from on high if children dare to require medical treatment through the year? I know she seems to be totally astounded that I don't have a car, so cannot get Minion from hospital to schoolgate in 20 minutes, instead of the hour and a half it actually takes via public transport. Maybe she's also one of those who believe that disabilities are all in the mind, so, as Minion doesn't look disabled enough, everything I say has to be dismissed.
Either way, the letter was taken by Minion this morning, so the lines have been drawn.
I am going to contact the school in relation to their disabled access - their concessions this year have been 1. to stick a ramp leading into the library building - which Minion says is steeper than the steps it replaced and 2. tell prospective parents who use wheelchairs (like nobody else is disabled) to phone before the open evening so they can - well, I don't know - get a parking space on the concrete instead of the unlit playing field? get a burly 6th former to carry them upstairs?
Minion is getting quite radicalised as a result of this - she says that she now understands why I grumbled so much about the school's lack of access, why I applied to another, easily accessible school as my first choice - and is compiling a list of things that could be reasonably adapted for anyone else with mobility difficulties. She has also asked if she should try and get an appointment to see the Glorious Leader (the Head of the whole place, who is heard of but rarely see outside fancy occasions) to inform him of the issues.
Never mind, I have to nip out for a threading appointment (Ow!) before my lesson.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

Squeak is being bribed with shoes
Pigpen - welcome back, hope the piglets are all ok  and congrats (but I think I said it)
I have to knit/source gifts for 2 babies but, atm, 1's a secret;) but I guessed! I'm not usually that perceptive :rotfl: and very very early days
I found a lovely pattern in Prima I might send for, for the January baby boy
Jojo - d'you know, the head of our comp knows the Vallikids by name (though, to be fair, she has taught them both), is visible round school when I pop up, speaks to me, mans stalls at fairs, and is, basically, accessible.
I had a lesson ob yesterday - I got outstanding for the Learning Environment/how engaged the kids were! That (to me) is the most important thing! I asked how they found the task and one girl said it was hard (ie challenging) but fun. In front of the head. I grinned all afternoon!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Good afternoon
We had a lovely time at toddler group this morning
LO picked up, had lunch, walked dog :j (it was VERY windy! It gave me a bit of an earache), came home, cleaned the upstairs bathroom & put washing in TD. I am just having a cuppa, then I will clean the downstairs toilet & basin. I might then pop down to my friends before school pick up to have a nosey at her loft room she is having done
The stairs were put in yesterday, so i can actually see up there now.
Ok. tea, then clean.
Catch you all later :wave:0
