I would add that I have been flashed by them at least a few times I can recall when at the limit so I'm not disputing what has been claimed. However I've not received a ticket. From what I can understand, every person caught on a GATSO has the photos checked before the ticket is issued because of this which might also explain why some who were speeding don't get tickets due to the 14 day rule.

I absolutely will keep doing this, I don't need the hassle of an NIP which I'd have to challenge that I was not breaking the limit, and they would have photos "proving I was" the flash interval recorded on the film does not accurately reflect what the actual flash interval is.

So you do 30 and the photos say you are doing 35 - 38.??????????

    Escapess me chape

Besides, although it's a hassle for me it only means I lift the foot for 100m and then speed up again. Just the same as if someone ahead of me had pulled out.

But chap, if you keeep to an indicated 30 you will be doing27 ish,
at an indicated 25 it's a crappy 20 at best
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

Now if i were younger i would see these signs as a challenge. Who needs special rolling roads to test
your latest modification when the council fit something easier to read that you can use 24/7 for FREE.
There's one near me that offers 3 digits 100 meters into 30 zone which at the end of a 1 mile straight, as you say it's a very tempting challenge.

I wouldnt worry about it, if you said that you was doing under the limit, you should be ok. I had it in my city going towards it on the other side of the road it flashed, some do pick up the speed of cars travelling in the opposite direction but dont actually record. If you was doing 34 and under u be ok.
  • I was driving home from friends last night, and was coming up toto one of those yellow 30mph speed cameras. There was another car about 4 car lengths in front of me, and as i slowed down just before i went past the camera and over the indicated line, i checked the speedo and it read 30 on the button, and then the camera flashed twice. I always go through these cameras at the same speed [28/29/30mph] and sometimes about 3mph [on average] over [33mph] as im under the impression that my speedo is about 3mph fast. I believe it's fast as the digital speedos at the side of the road around where i live, clock me at 27mph when my speedo reads 30mph. I've never has a ticket for speeding before, and definitely was only doing 30mph or slightly under.

Im not sure how these cameras work. I'd assume they dont record all the time like a anpr camera, and that they only trigger when the speed has been exceeded?

Anyone got any ideas on this?

Guess i'll just have to wait and see!
Just thought i'd come back and update anyone who kindly replied or gives a hoot about my speed camera incident. Got a letter yesterday saying i had 6 points and £100 fine......................nah im kidding! No letter yet and i believe they have to contact you within 10 days, and that was a fortnight ago today. Don't understand why the bloody thing flashed but im not complaining.

    thanks for the help

You must receive the NIP within 14 days. They're now out of time. Even if was posted in time, it's now not reached you in time, and you have a valid defence to any action. If, however, you do receive a NIP, save the envelope and go to www.pepipoo.com for further advice.

    Cheers, yes.

Or the OP only recently acquired it, or notified the DVLA of an address change.
