What i don't understand is why did it flash in the first place?

Surely if it flashes at that means you were over the limit? I might be wrong.....i hope im wrong!

    thanks

They can flash erractically especially during foggy/mist weather, as other shave mentioned, if a vehicle was travelling in the opposite direction then that can trigger it too, all you can do is wait to see if a NIP arrives in the post.

I always go through at 25mph. Because of flash intervals not being set correctly and being next to impossible to challenge.

    Google NOTSO

Was there a fast car in the other direction?

No no no no no, please Wig don't, that's making an obstruction of yourself for no good reason. Keep it at 30 or an indicated 33 if you have actually checked the accuracy of your speedo.

Gatso flash even when they have no film inserted, or it's run out, (so I'm informed)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

The roadside digital signs are only a guide, Nowhere near accurate, One down the road from says
34mph when my speedo says 30. One by the highstreet says 30mph at the same speed.

Now if i were younger i would see these signs as a challenge. Who needs special rolling roads to test

I've seen Gatso's flash everything that goes past even cars going in the opposite direction firstly if the film image does not support any offence nothing will happen and secondly it,s odds on there was no film in the camera anyway.

No no no no no, please Wig don't,

I absolutely will keep doing this, I don't need the hassle of an NIP which I'd have to challenge that I was not breaking the limit, and they would have photos "proving I was" the flash interval recorded on the film does not accurately reflect what the actual flash interval is.

So you do 30 and the photos say you are doing 35 - 38.

Besides, although it's a hassle for me it only means I lift the foot for 100m and then speed up again. Just the same as if someone ahead of me had pulled out.

The 2 photos have a time interval printed on them, usually 0.5 sec & it's accurate. There are also secondary check marks on the road so you can work out your speed from the 2 photos. Thats why the secondary checks are there.

If the camera is faulty then doing 25 might show you doing 35... then what?

Read about NOTSO 80% of cameras tested were inaccurate,

Unlikely to happen. If I'm doing 25 any inacuracy would be unlikely to put me beyond 33 mph 30 + 10% which is the point beyond which you get an NIP. Everyone has to draw their own boundary I draw mine at 25.

I drive through them at the posted limit. Yet to get a ticket.

Good for you, I drive through them at 25mph, yet to get a ticket since reading about NOTSO.

Have had tickets (NIP) before that time but I was speeding :)
