Weekly Spend Challenge W/C 2nd Oct 2011

I'm new to this thread
I'd like to get back on track and my challenge is £48 for the week. Back to something I did back in January. £5 food and £3 personal spending a day, and if I don't spend it I'll not carry if forward to the next day but add it to savings
:j
It is a good job it started today as I was invited out to go for a meal yesterday which cost me £11. How do people cope with accepting invitations which cost more than one really wants to spend? This person invites me out which costs me - but the alternative is that they end up at my house and I end up cooking for them which gets a pain too.
Also I meet my daughter in town once a week for a drink (costa's) - I always pay for her, which I don't mind, but I think I'll have to record that separately. Not Rachmaninov

Hi Frogletina and L7oopys you are on the list. Let us know how your week pans out.
I have £4.50 to report for today for a coffee and muffin from Starbucks to have at the cinema. I went to see Crazy, stupid love which was much better than I expected. The rest of the day has been organising food for the week and stuff round the house.
I have agreed to go out for dinner on Thursday before the theatre but we are getting a deal £12.95 for 2 courses and a glass of wine so hopefully this won't tip me over budget. It will hopefully focus the mind for the week until then;)Weekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30

Hi everyone,
Wow, lots of new "faces" this week :j
I'm hoping to see Crazy Stupid Love this week pp, so it's good that you found it better than expected. Either that or What's Your Number.
I've had a VERY spendy day today, went into town with my friend and had a Starbucks while I waited for her to get her nails done, then we wandered about and I did my toiletries/make up shop for the month (separate budget), then we were heading back and decided to go to La Tasca for a late lunch which was £10.95 for 6 tapas each - very good deal and far too much food but lovely all the same, so complete unexpected spend there (also had a glass wine so was nearly £17!!!), then headed back (after the £3.50 for parking) but I didn't want to go home so bought a magazine and sat in my local Starbucks for an hour or so enjoying the last of the sun. Oh I also got some new necklaces and bracelets - all £2 each in BHS sale, but came out of my Clothing budget so separate.
Sun 2 Oct: Meal Out, Starbucks etc - £27.75

Nice to see my name added for the challenge! :j
I didn't spend anything yesterday, so that's £8 I am putting aside. I'm out today and wondering if I can resist going to Sainsbury's for coleslaw which I love. It is quite interesting to keep to £5 when in a supermarket and having to make choices.
I'll probably get a coupon for money off if I spend so much within a week. Last time I got one, I wanted to get some shampoo holders for showers - but guess what? There were none there that day, but I still used up the value of the coupon! Not Rachmaninov

Hiya all, I know it is a bit late but I'd like to join. I have £7 in my purse and would like to not spend more than that this week, as I have already done my food shopping and just filled the car with diesel. Not got any nights out planned, just meeting a friend for coffee on Thursday, so it should be doable!:A If saving money is wrong, I don't want to be right. William Shatner
