No, it does not - the article mainly refers to boots branded as "Ugg" with some sort of real fur lining. These are not, do not mention 'Ugg' on any label and I am looking at my pair now which state lining is 100% polyester! They are suede leather, made in China, like thousands of other items of clothing/boots/shoes.
A distressing news item, I agree, but I don't think it's at all relevant to these boots.“Rain drops are not the ones who bring the clouds.”0 -

As long as you 100% sure they are real Uggs then i think they operate a fair practice, but what the sites are saying is many are duped into thinking they are real with label changes and these people are buying the cruelty boots unknowingly.
But these stories highlight our need to investigate things, the more info we know the better armed we are, as non us knew about this.0 -
On a documentary a while back, they were saying that countries such as China that farm fur are getting around the anti-fur market by labelling real fur as fake fur, on product labels. Food for thought, I think.
I empathise with all of you who are feeling deeply effected by learning of the incomprehensibly cruel acts that our fellow humans are committing to these poor animals. I discovered a video on Youtube a few months ago of a racoon dog being brutally slammed against a concrete floor, before they started to skin it - dazed but still alive. Couldn't continue watching it.
But i'm heartened by this thread, to see that even on a site with an overriding priority of saving money, that so many of you also feel as enraged and upset by this practice, and also that some of you are putting these feelings into positive action (e.g. boycotting such 'goods', signing petitions, etc).
It means there is hope.0 -

That's like labelling an ingredient as quorn when it is really meat!!!!!
People avoiding the product for ethical reasons are being duped.
I am so enraged. It is even making me consider boycotting ALL goods from china where possible.:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

Im shocked that so many people didnt know about the dog and cat skinning and meat trade that goes on.....i saw a programme years ago about the Korean breeders and killers who thought the more terrified a dog was at death the better the meat tasted...then they proudly got the World cup!!!there are lots of petitions to sign but sadly nothing gets done...and real dog/cat fur has been marketed as faux for years..horrific.xxx.......Pete Doherty and a tub of nutella nom nom0

Clearly I am naive as I knew nothing about this. I read the article, but could not watch footage. I've signed the petition but doubt that will help....what a terrible world we live in0

I've also just remembered I bought a cat toy a while ago, it was a fur mouse on a piece of cord purchased from Poundland and I questioned the fur on that no way was that fake fur.

We have that poundland mouse too and as one of our dogs decided to "kill" it i looked closely at the fur and you can be rest assured its synthetic on a knitted backing!!First win 14/12 Playtex bra & Knickers!!!!
