    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hello everyone!

Popping to report that it has been a slow start for me this month, with the 1st 3 days of the month spend days; however, I managed to catch one yesterday, so I'm off the mark with 1 NSD! :j

Hoping to be much better behaved for the rest of month, otherwise I'll never pay off my debts!

Off to catch up with all the posts that I've missed out on whilst I was spending over the weekend!

Have a good rest of the week everyone, and good luck catching more NSDs! chicken1.gif

    Good morning all!

Sorry, didnt get a chance to post yesterday, it was first day back at work for me so I was a bit busy!
Got #1 yesterday - had to cough up £2 for a collection but I had odd change so that was fine!

Today should be another - I have zumba tonight but again I've stashed the cash in the jar for that!

Hospital appt this morning ( dermatology). I'm hoping to get put back on the meds I was on previously as my skin is VERY sore ATM. :(

Also I'm having my annual flu jab this afternoon - cant believe it's time for that already! In between all that I guess I better do some work:rotfl::rotfl:

BTW Kerri - that chilli sounds lovely! Just the thing on an Autumn night!

    Have a lovely day everyone:)

** sheepishly pokes head round door after being AWOL for a month :embarasse **

I know I made target in August (yes I mean August!) by scraping a final NSD on one of the last 2 days, though I can't remember which now.

But I have no idea at all as to how I did in September :o

Decided to spend some time trying to sort out my life - but it still took me almost the entire month to finally find the courage to call time on the relationship I was in...... mainly because I wasn't getting to see him and didn't want to do it by text, which is what ended up happening!! But when I did I thought he'd taken it too well, which proved to be the case and 48 hours later he was talking to me almost as if nothing had happened/changed (besides promising to make at least 1 evening a week for me) - and it took about 3 hours to convince him I wasn't going to change my mind.

I had my GDs to stay for a couple of nights the weekend before last - and managed to work out it's 6 years since they last had a sleep-over at mine!! Determined it won't be that long again, although part of that gap is down to my having been off work with major back problems, then late hubby being diagnosed with cancer, then trying to get my life back on an even keel....... but that's no excuse for the last 2 years :(

The dog had his operation to remove the lump I found just before Aug B/H, and then began the loooooong wait for the results. When they came through a couple of weeks later it was good(ish) news, in that although it was a tumour it was benign - and the surrounding tissue they removed was all clear, so there's no reason to suspect it'll come back. But while waiting for the results they placed another animal with the chap who'd been interested in taking him, which knocked the rehoming. I 've since had a call to say they've found somewhere else, but was told they're busy with shows at the moment so it could be a couple of weeks until they have someone available to move him. Only problem is I'm not convinced it's the right home for him - but I've a nasty feeling that if I say 'no' to this one they'll wash their hands over helping me find somewhere. I told them he responds better to men when out, is less unpredictable around other dogs when out with a bloke, and has never had exposure to cats - and this home is a lady with daughhter, who already have two dogs (both female, which I'm told will put him at the bottom of the pecking order so make it less of a problem!) and 'several' cats.

I heard last Saturday that I didn't get a ballot place for the London Marathon, so am currently trying to decide whether to try for a place through the running club or not. The other option is to forget it for next year and sign up for the Manchester marathon the following weekend - the advantages to that being that there's no additional costs for travel and accomodation, and controlling my diet for the last couple of days before the run won't be a problem as I'll be at home and able to cook for myself. Just means moving the annual leave I'd already booked for London (just in case) by a week, but looking at the holiday charts that shouldn't be a problem at the moment. Would also mean that if I still have the dog I don't have the issue/expense of kennels......

And I'm out on a date tonight with a chap I've been talking to on-line and by text for the past week. It's the first time I've felt happy to meet with someone I've not spoken to on the phone first (guessing that's because he's so open and honest on-line - his messages are clearly typed exactly as he'd say whatever it is, 'cos some of them are very blunt and straight to the point), but my nerves are totally shot...... Can't remember the last time I've been off my food so badly (can't face breakfast today, and the thought of lunch is already making me heave.... not good when we're going out for a meal :rotfl:) - nor the last time I was literally shaking like a leaf with them, which is how I've been since about 10pm yesterday:eek:

I'm going to try and see if I can figure how many NSD's I've managed so far this month (head hasn't been in the right place to think about it on a daily basis), but suspect it's going to mean digging around for receipts to check what day I bought what as I've been on automatic pilot a bit :p If I can come up with a figure that I feel pretty confident is right, then I'll sign up for this month - but I'm not going to knock myself if I can't do it or fail to keep track again, as I still feel as if life is a bit topsy-turvy at the moment.

ok, so Saturday was spendy (bread, fruit and veg)
    Sunday I didn't go anywhere - so that's NSD #1
    Monday was Direct Debit day
    Yesterday I needed milk
Already spent today - went to coloiur my hair, only to find I'd used my last bottle last time.... so I had to dive down the road to get some more!

so currently on 1. Think I'd like to set my target to 8 rather than my normal 12 though please :)

My OH bought a McDonald's yesterday :naughty: so no NSD for us. Today won't be one either because we've run out of bread, milk and cheese, so need to go get them before packing lunches for tomorrow!

Good luck to everyone else for today :D

Cheryl - it's lovely to see you back. I had a feeling you needed some time to yourself, but that's not to say you weren't missed or being thought of.
Keep treating yourself with TLC, take things at a pace that suits you and I hope the nerves pass.

    Lotsaluv and ((((hugs)))):)

Hya Cheryl, good to have you back, hope things calm down a bit for you soon. Have a ((hug)) on me.
Keiss - woohoo to the new car, that’s really exciting. What have you gone for?
Eeek to losing the post - my tip, type it in word and save as you go.. saves a lot of hassle!!
I do sometimes remember to do this, but usually just type as I witter!

We are getting a Citroen Xsara Picasso 2 litre diesel in light metallic green. A lovely car, and plenty of space when we need to shift loads of stuff! It's a 2005 reg, but quite a low mileage...and much cheaper than lots of others we were looking at. No obvious problems, but it comes with a 12 year warranty from the garage we're buying it from, so if anything major happens, we shouldn't suffer too much money-wise. We are collecting it on Saturday, if we can get the insurance cover note in time to get to the PO to pay the road tax (that's lower too!).

Still can't believe we are buying this car with cash (well, debit card)...and we'll still have money left in the bank! :j A wierd but nice feeling :) Could get used to this, but musn't get complacent, still need to keep a reign on the spendings.

So I am declaring today as NSD no 3...should get one tomorrow and possibly one on Friday too. I will save the food shopping for car-buying day!!

    Have a great day everyone.

  • Nice to 'see' you again Cheryl - like others I have been missing your posts x I didn't get a place in the London Marathon either so considering another one or maybe just building up and trying again next year :)

Today will be an NSD, I can not spend money today, I refuse to! Spent the morning with my head stuck in books, this afternoon is for housework and this evening I am going to MILs and FILs with children as my BIL and SIL are going back home tomorrow and who knows when we will next see each other :( We want to go next Easter but it's really expensive to get there - maybe we'll win the lottery, you never know!
