I did look at Bakers but thought it didn't look like one of the quality foods.
It is so hard to tell as they don't all list the ingrediets in the same way !
  • Steer clear of Bakers and Pedigree etc (basically most things you can get in the supermarket) - full of additives.

ETA: if you look at the colour of it, it's a give away ..... can cause problems with skin and make dogs hyperactive.

  • thank you rising from the ashes , that was what i was needing to know
(i knew there was a reason they were cheap but didn't know what it was).
  • No probs - it's actually not that cheap... I had a look when I was in the supermarket a while ago (curiosity, I'd never change) and was totally shocked that it would work out more expensive to feed than the Skinners!

With better quality foods, you often need to feed less so it works out more economical in the long run - I think for a lot of people it's the convenience of getting the food with their weekly shop (which I totally understand) and also advertising. You never/rarely see foods like Skinners etc advertised and it's mostly found by people through word of mouth or through a knowledgeable person at their pet shop (which is how I found it) - whereas foods like Bakers, Pedigree etc have great adds in mags on the TV etc so people remember them.
