What they do does not seem hugely special but maybe the hours and graft are.
Yes phill I am sure you can muck around with your spread sheets but you control those spreadsheets don't you
You take about £1,000,000 of somebody's money and gamble it against 70,000,000 other people trying to do the same.
It's like the old story
Guy comes in to a big firm to mend their new computer he walks up to it does a few checks and then taps it with a hammer 'hey presto' the comp works
Turns around to the boss and says £1000 please
The boss stands their and shouts iratley im not giving you £1000 for hittting a computer with a hammer anybody could do that.
The engineer says fine £1.00 for gitting the computer with a hammer
£999.00 for knowing where to hit it:cool:THE SHABBY SHABBY FOUNDER0 -

Where to put your clients £1,000,000 is a risk based on assumption, guess work, and knowledge of the market, whats more you have to know when to take the investnment back out again for your clients maximum return. To early and you could miss out on another 2.5% profit, to late and bye bye £1,000,000.THE SHABBY SHABBY FOUNDER0 -
The question really is, what makes these people so special to get these jobs?:beer:0

What do people make of them getting tens of thousands in bonuses?
Really they don't work any harder than many nurses or charity workers for example, so it could be seen as pure greed rather than healthy rewards.
Just incase the op and thread title change and we then don't appear very silly for posting what type of house we live in

Phill ibleive your in uni studying an ology yes. You have to know your field to do well in your tests.
these people have to know about everything to do well in theirs.
bad weather in South America will affect the bannana growth down there wich means the transport company will not need to send as many drivers in trucks to pick them up and ship them to the uk which means that supermarkets will have to charge more for the fruit than they did last week.
How many industries are involved in the above scenario. How many companies will lose out and then their shares will plumit.
And shares in the the companies that deal with the bannana growers in south africa will rise as we will then buy our fruit from there this week.
I don't suppose your old enough to remember the storm that hit South Califonia about 15 years ago and wiped out the bannana crop.
America almost had a huge depression untill the goverment bailed out one particular part of the chain. Do you know which service almost went bust taking america with it. If it's that easy to do then you will be able to answer me easily?THE SHABBY SHABBY FOUNDER0
