  • Hi Steve, don't worry, it is "sortable"

Pretty quiet just now (Fri night & dinner time) but loads of people will be around later / tomorrow - just find your post and "bump" it up if it's fallen off the front page.

I'd suggest redoing the SOA - taking your mum off as a member, adding the missing debt & checking all the figures are monthly ones (divide the annual sums by 12)
    Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
    2016 Sell: £125/£250
    £1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000
    Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!

Thanks very much rising from the ashes.

The main thing I am worried about is getting letters and phone calls because as I said before I live with my mum and she has parkinsons disease. She is very nervous and gets worried and upset and the slightest thing.

I hope if I/when get things sorted with payplan they will be able to stop any of that happening.
  • Hi all.

I have redone my soa to include everything I payout devided into mothns.

    thanks for any help.

  • bump please

wanted to know should I be contacting these payday companies or let pay plan do its thing?

I have my wonga loan to go out tommorow which I cant afford although I can just about afford to roll it over but even that is going to be pushing it.

    should I roll it over?
  • Hi Steve,

I just wanted to say please try not to let this worry you it can be sorted!, I (like alot of people here) have been in a similar situation to you and there is so much help out there. I went thought the CCCS which was recommend by this site, and i can honestly say they were the nicest people to deal with, they never once judged me or criticised me. It was so nice to have someone on your side! They dealt with my creditors so all the nasty letters and phone calls, which you start to get once you default on payments.

    I can't recommend them enough!

I have now finally got dept free with their help.

Please don’t feel like you are on your own! Have a look on their website.

    xx

  • some good news sort of anyway. I have managed to get in contact with wonga after 5 hours of trying and have got them to freez my account including interest for 38 days.

I told them the situation and that I was with pay plan and the girl I spoke to was very understanding and said that she wants payplan to deal directly with them. All I have to do is give payplan wongas hardship team email address and they will take it from there.

Now wether to contact the rest of the people or let payplan do it.

What I would suggest is keep a spending diary, and see if the money ties up with what your spending, really sounds like your coming on leaps and bounds, really glad you've got payplan, it just like cccs there both charities so you know all the money is going the right way.

Payplan will look after it all, they won't lead you up the garden path, it really sounds like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders. xx

    Hi OP

Well done on what you've acheived so far and for completing an SOA. Good steps. Also, fantastic about Wonga, well done.

Just read through this thread and it's a funny patchy one, so I hope I'm not treading on any toes and I'm probably going to repeat some areas but I thought I'd list everything you need to do as it's not been done yet.

    1. Contact CCCS or Payplan - do NOT touch any company which charges. (Looks like you've contacted Payplan which is a good start, can you advise where you are in the process? Have you sent out letters etc?)

    2. Open a new basic bank account away from the group your current bank is with. For example Co-operative Cashminder account - there are lots of others, but they are who I use, so I know them!!!

    3. Transfer your wages ASAP to go to this new account. Contact any companies you have DDs that go out to (NOT the payday loan companies ;) ) and give them the new account details

    4. As part of your (presumed) DMP process, send out the letters that Payplan or CCCS advise - you may have already done this

    5. Wait for responses from the payday loan companies

    6. STICK TO THE BUDGET THAT YOU HAVE AGREED WITH THE DMP COMPANY - If there is a monthly figure for car tax for example, you make sure you put it aside every month, else this is NOT going to work!

    7. Relax and know you're back on the right path! :D

Hope this helps, like I said, from reading this thread it's unclear where exactly you are in the process, so I'm probably repeating myself!

I did notice on your latest SOA that you've still left off the £80 to solicitors for your other debt and that your petrol has gone from £45 a month to £160. Are these worth checking?

When you contact Payplan/CCCS - please please please ensure you include ALL your outgoings when you go through your I/E, as otherwise you're just going to end up back in the same situation.

Best of luck to you - you're on the right track :D

Thanks the 17.99 I know is steep but its unlimited and its not aol thank god. The car insurance went up and this was the cheapest from using go compare because I had to get my back window replaced and the year earlier I had to get the windscreen replaced.

Even though you see these adverts were they say it doesn't affect your no claims bonus which it doesn't what they dont tell you is that affects your premiums and it has to be mentioned when looking for insurance which goes against you.
