If anyone buys kids tights from Asda Check the sizes before you buy them.
I bought dd a 3 pack of tights in size 5-6 and only 2 are 5-6 and 1 was 3-4!! I can't take them back either as I chucked the receipt out and the packageing.
This isnt the first time it's happened either, bought a top online and it came sealed in a bag on the right size hanger but the t shirt was a size smaller.
So just to be on the watch out.1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31
10 & 20p: misc savings £2.70
50p: Christmas presents £3.50
£2: holidays £2.000 -
Re Lidls, had a quick squizz at the leaflet at my mams and they are doing kids wellies, character umbrellas and padded leg things (I know what I mean!)
(Just got the fright of my life there! Heard a noise in the passage, had a look and the buggy had fallen over but the door curtain was fluttering LOL, had to force myself to look behind it!!)1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31

I have had a similar problem with Primark. I try not to buy anything from there without checking the actual label first because things are often on the wrong hanger. I got caught out recently with a pair of leggings that should have been a 14 and were a 10. Mind you, I was glad to find it was the label and not that I had put on huge amounts of weight. It wasn't worth making an 18 mile round trip on the bus to return them so my daughter has them for bed. It isn't the first time it has happened though.0 -
Morning!
Well, it is not quite so cold here this morning as the biting wind has dropped. But I wore my gloves to get to work today. Mostly because the gearstick was so blinkin cold, lol. And I did leave before sunrise...
I went up to our local shops yesterday before collecting the children. Bought us a cheap slow cooker from wilkinsons (currently borrowing my mums) and had a browse round home bargains. I was after some single duvet sets as I have bought replacement duvets for the kids (both have cotbed size at the mo, but think singles will tuck in better and not get kicked off). So, I found a nice dinosaur one for DS, and a minnie mouse one, and a stripy pink one for DD. DS will need another. I did see a Thomas one, but it was £14 - lots more than the others.
I also got some wind-up lanterns from the camping section. They were £2.99 each, but work great, and quite bright. The kids loved them and had them in their rooms as nightlights. Both still had a faint glow this morning, and we hadn't wound them for long!
I've got my curtains coming this week too. Thermal ones, for kitchen and my bedroom. I've half a mind to leave my current bedrrom ones up too. They are eyelets, so am sure I could thread two pairs for extra warmth? What do you think?
I need a couple of curtain poles - for kitchen and landing. I've had a fleece over a tension rod in the landing all this week - wow what a difference!Bossymoo

I find I have tons of wooly blankets and they are unbearble itchy. I am a tenant stuck with storage heater which are my no stretch of the imagination new or sophisticated.
I'm on Economy 7, this means that the electricity used by the storage heater is relatively cheap. The bad news is that the heaters are not used to provide heat overnight, and so has a full store of heat to release during the day. It means the house will be freezing from 7pm onwards.
Question is: why do you keep warm at night if the heaters are not providing warmth? Would electric blankets be an economic solution, seeing that night time electricity is cheap? I was thinking of this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dreamland-Intelliheat-Fleecy-Heated-Blanket/dp/B005HHULVY/ref=sr_1_2?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1348050406&sr=1-2

I always found oil filled electric radiators to be great when I didnt have central heating. You used to be able to get them that said they ran for 1p an hour (that will have changed!)1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31
