Approved Foods have had the small disposable dehumidifiers on offer for 99p so I've bought 30 (which were delivered today) and just put in another order for another 30
I would rather use this style than refillable so I'm well on my way to having that sorted this year. I seem to run out of refills every year so I'm stock piling this time around :rotfl:
:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
£60 on disposable dehumidifiers - You could easily have picked up a second hand proper electric one for that which would be so much more effective...
I love my dehumidifier and am going to get another one so I can have one upstairs and one downstairs. They feel the air feel so much drier when the weather is very wet outside.0 -
Mine go inside the kitchen cupboards etc so an electrical one wouldn't be as practical. I am looking to buy one though eventually, I'm more bothered about the black mould thats decided to grow inside my kitchen cupboards atm  I have a large refillable one in the bathroom as well, which I got from Aldi a few years back which is usually sufficient but I've been unable to get the refills. I'm keeping a beady eye on the specials newsletter for when they are next in stock & I'll be buying a few boxes this time as they keep selling out.Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0

Afternoon Preppers:wave:
I FINALLY bought the 3 tension rods that I've needed since last year:o...I can now put up the remaining Black Out Blinds that I bought after somebody recommended them on here! The ones that did put up last October are really good, both for keeping the light in/out and for keeping the heat in! Thankyou to whoever it was that suggested them, you are an :A
Have washed the 2 heated blankets ready for the winter, one goes on my bed and the other sits nicely on the sofa, so when I DO get a chance to watch a dvd or sit and knit, I can have a nice warm bottom and of course a fleece blanket over me
My chimney is going to be swept next week too, so that along with making lots of lovely stews and soups for the freezer should keep me busy AND help get ready for winter 2012/2013.
Keep going everyone,
Alice

Alice-mary, what a great tip for the electric blanket! I was looking at those heated throws but they are so expensive, now I have the perfect plan! Thank you!
Fruball, could you give a link to the humidifiers please? I'm looking but there's so much choice and I can't afford to make a mistake. Not that anyone can.0 -

HERE is one that is similar to mine - I don't remember spending that much... It looks like the prices have shot up for some reason - probably us going on about them on here!
Look out locally for a second hand one - some people buy them to dry out plastering (how I got my first one) and then sell them on.
If you dry washing in the house over winter, they are a godsend too as they dry it more quickly and stop the room getting damp.0 -
There is one on ebay which is running out in the next 20 mins - search DeLonghi DeHumidifier
Postage is 9.99 and it's up to £56 now. I would pay up to £80ish, inc postage.
HTH someone x0 -
Just unpacked part 1 of my Approved foods order, mix up at depot means 1 box today and another tomorrow. OH laughed at how much Naan bread and bread mix we now have!!
We had dreadful problems with black mould in our bedroom we got a dehumidifier from my Nan, who no longer needed it, and the difference is tremendous. A little mould does still grow but much less and easier to control now, can't believe how much water they suck up out of the air!!Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T
2020 the year of less - Less debt, less waste, less spending, less stuff, less stress!0 -
Just done a sports direct order getting some basic fleece hoodies, track pants for the kids, a fleece hoody and thin fleece lined leggings for me. Came to £19.00 so not bad.
I'll be permantly wearing leggings, woolly socks, polo necks and fleece/woolly pullies as don't intend putting the heating on at all during the day here until I leave for the school pick up at 2.50pm or 5pm if it's not too cold.0 -
Oooooooooooooooooooooooh fleece lined leggings sound lovely!!! Off to look and if I spend anything I blame you!Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T

I may have exaggerated the fleece part " a soft inner fabric for added comfort making them perfect for layering during colder weather. " In my head I hope they're fleece lol
they have ladies zip up hoodies for £2.99 too http://www.sportsdirect.com/miss-posh-hoody-ladies-669055?colcode=669055080
