noooo - lights flickering! Hope we manage to dodge the power cut bullet like last week.....
HOLY CARP!!! THAT was one HECK of a gust!!!! Sister of bawbag (whose name I shall not repeat here) - proving that girls are better than boys!
I think it's worse here in this wee part of Midlothian than last Thursday, it's howling. School pick up was not pleasant! Wind blowing snow and sleet into your face at 100mph (well not quite but felt like it).
Stay safe everyone"A strong man stands up for himself, a stronger man stands up for others" Barnyard the children's film.

Not fully caught up yet, will do in a minute or two ...... Cat wrap up warmly if you do venture out!
Howling here too & horrible (can already hear "things" blowing around).
Can't get the car in the garage as the fridge/freezer packed in on Sunday:( so the contents of the fridge are in bags on the garage floor:eek::eek::eek:.
Trying to decide if I can manage without one until after Christmas - hate buying things this time of year when the sales are just round the corner ..... but struggling without a fridge (had to go to the garage 4 times last night & don't really fancy doing that every day/night)......
Right .... wish me luck - need to venture out and see what's blowing around!:)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Was about to say it might just be calming slightly here, then another gust made me jump out my skin!0 -
stomach churning update

hair done. Food delivery tomorrow then batten down the hatches
horrible gusts here today, must be hellish up north
camping gas cylinders arrived today, please let the stove arrive soon. I am so mistrusting of the energy co`s holding it together
prelim forecast for jan arriving soon, watch my cryptic words and winking smilies
I must admit I am feeling dreadfully apprehensive after Ian Fergusson said `ferocious storm` for friday
dh was up his ladder today, helping a neighbour who found loads of water in her `stuffed` bedroom cupboard. Mastic had disappeared from around a cable and water had been dripping in for weeks. They are in such a mess, everything out and things ruined also soaked carpet and wall. He has made a temporary repair but they will go through hoops getting insurance paid
tbh I`m going to charge my noise cancelling earphones and I`ll be having the blinds down. I can`t stand this weather, it isn`t a bit like gently falling snowflakes0 -
Hey everyone.
im still disappointed by the lack of snow down here, it doesnt feel christmassy at all!

rising from the ashes do you know anyone with an electric or gas camping coolbox / fridge they could lend you, it's hardly camping weather and the gas ones even have a small freezing area.C.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z Able Archer0

Nose bothering me now as to a sister of bawbag's name...
OH away out and will be home late, he taking son home to Edinburgh. Looks like a blizzard but not lying for long before melting. This wind is the worst I've been through for a few years, and up here we get a lot! Between the noise of it hitting the windows and sooking up the chimney and the roof creaking I WANT MY MUM

Just found this now! Bit late !!0 -
Don't know if this will help anyone - not had a chance to look at it in depth:
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/uk_forecast_warnings.html
Back in ... brrrrrrrrr ..... it was a neighbours plant pot (big one) that had lost it's tree and was bashing into the side of my car .... (not very happy, he's got at least 30 pots in the front garden & they end up all over the place every time it's windy).
Ohhhh, need to get a cuppa - fingers too cold to type!
Born Blonde thanks for that .... will have an ask around and see if anyone's got one I could borrow - it just seems so "not MSE" to buy a new one now when I bet I can get on for a lot less money in a fortnight.
I'm not one for frequenting "the sales" - does anyone know if they usually start straight after Christmas or is it into January? TIAGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
