Not sure if this is the right place to post this query but I am sure you guys can point me in the right direction :D

With the cold weather having arrived I have dug out my pajamas to wear while curled up under the duvet and to sleep in. However, I am quite a fidgeter and i find the pajama legs ride up to my knees and get all twisted, its really uncomfortable. It also wakes me up at night because i feel all tangled. Anyone have any ideas on how I can stop this?

    Thanks :D

Try thermal long johns. They are tight at the ankle and very cosy. If you have Dunnes stores, they are £8.00 at the moment.:D

the thought occured to me that some things in the fridge could be hung out the window in plastic bags as a 'student fridge' :p
A good substitute for a fridge is 2 terracotta pots - one inside the other and fill the gap with sand and keep sand damp - use something for lid.

My lovely DD aged 5 asked me what her long johns were called... i said long johns or leggings.... "No" she said... "They are called Leg Vests"

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Forever to be known as leg vests in this house :D

Confuzzled different suppliers have different criteria for compensation ... have a hunt through your agreement and it should be mentioned in the T&Cs somewhere.

actually i've found very little on the npower site however i did find this article about compensation which, from other things i've found, is set by ofgem http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/bills/article-1616311/How-complain-gas-electricity-companies.html thought that might be helpful for some others here possibly

I know this is of topic, but had to tell some one of my good news......

Well as madarther knows ive got real bad plantar fasciitis in my feet, I had a most painful steroid injection ever about 12 days ago and yea for a couple of days it did give me a bit of relief, but it soon went back to being a pain.....So I came up with the idea of having acupuncture, (long story short) and yes my feet are feeling so much better:Thad it 2 days ago, well worth the money, they say you cant buy your health , well I just have, its so good to be able to walk without so much pain, I hope it lasts , its 80 per cent better than it was........:T...

I don't care if right place or not, I for one am so glad to hear your news, that is so great, am very, very happy for you I really am, to have relief from pain makes everything in your life seem better, trite but true, you look at the world in a whole different way and even what seemed that mountains before suddenly shrink to hills - I hope it keeps the pain at bay. Are you going for more sessions? Hugs

It was cold here this morning with a frosty start. I just wanted to tell you all that I had put my boys heavyweight rugs on them recently and this morning I went down to their stables and put my hands inside them and felt the warm as toasty feeling coming back from their bodies. I felt so happy that all that running around getting their coats cleaned, reproofed and repaired was so worthwhile, because it has paid dividends for the last two days. I am sure they feel happy and snug in their coats too.

I can see all that hard work throughout the summer being so worthwhile. DH checked around the house and garden Thursday and yesterday making sure that everything was okay and that no roof tiles or ridges had come lose - thankfully not.

Oh that is great, you were so worried that you wouldn't get it all done and the boys might suffer just a couple of months ago and now you are seeing the payoff from all your preparations, wonderful. I am glad they are nice and snug, so they are happy and you can relax a bit, am so pleased for you :)

Damp and still here today - the sort of day the washing comes back in wetter than it went out. Prefer to cold crisp days. Slept in today muh to dogs disgust (stayed up late for me watching Danish thriller).
Worried about DD coming home next weekend - and Christmas in general I suppose. saying 'homemade or charity shop' is all very well but requires inspiration AND the charity shops to have at least a few interesting things..... neither seems to be happening and its a very meagre haul of things so far. Am going to make some sweeties just before and have made a nice tartan cushion from an old skirt fro DD but DS is proving difficult - well I suppose he would even if I had lots of dosh. He just started a new job a few weeks ago in a swanky Hi-Fi/ home cinema/ very expensive whatever you buy there shop so there is nothing from that world that would be worth risking money on. He has also just kitted himself out with 'grown-up' clothes for work (get this - including smart winter coat. proper shoes(!) AND shirts and ties!) so apart from a rather garish Italian silk tie from charity shop thats no go too. The home-made voucher idea (for home cooked meals etc) won't go down well because I hardly ever see him. What are men SO difficult - I remember this with my dad and my ex..... at least the dogs will be happy as they all get a new filled bone for Xmas.
    Oooh er - I sound down - sorry - probably post-drain clearing anti-climax!!!! LOL

Huh typical!! At long last I get round to putting my window quilt up and what happens? The weather gets warmer and much of the snow has gone!!! Anyway lentil yummy soup now made and sitting outside on garden table cooling down ready for me to take to work later. I tried to make crispbreads from Nigel Slater recipe last night but after baking the first few I could see they were going to be far too hard so turned rest of dough into yummy loaf to go with yummy soup.

How do people get by without living like this? I think sometimes I get a bit preachy and holier than thou about it, but I wouldn't know how else to live. My long distance fella decides what he wants to eat each day and then goes to Sainsbury's to buy it, good thing we don't live together much, I think he thinks I'm a mad woman living on this remote hill but to me, having veg in the garden or shed or freezer, and other ingredients around is much more 'convenient' than going to the supermarket.

Brill news about the plantar shegar, I had this earlier this year and GP said it would take a year to heal (!!!!!) I couldn't walk anywhere so I really can sympathise, the pain is horrendous. I was given some exercises and to come back to try the injection etc. However I decided to lose a bit of weight and as the pounds came off the pain eased and now a stone lighter, I have hardly any pain. Seemed logical that it would help but no idea why the Dr didn't suggest it - I'm not really overweight but that stone helped amazingly. Not much faith in doctors now!!!

Off to work soon, have a lovely day everyone, wish I didn't have to go to work though!

on the same note, on the 13th or 14th i will turn up both my freezer and fridge temps to get them as cold as possible before the bad weahter hits.:p

now that is a very very good idea and I`ll join you in doing the same. If I had any spaces I would also be freezing cool packs and water in containers.

5 minute power cut last night so maybe they are testing the system and I burnt 2 candle jars and 2 nightlights, which kept the big room at 19 all evening so I was very happy. I don`t like the fact that they are burning my oxygen but nice to know they work. I had a half full yankee beanswax jar with 2 wicks and that started with a splutter and little red specks flying up so I was very watchful but it settled down. I am not getting that type again and I have a good 5 more in the cupboard :o heck I was sucked in by qvc, years ago

I have also burnt the stove for 1 1/2 hours from 6 am and that has used half a 10kg bag. It is ok for price ie £2.60 a bag (1 tonne on a pallet) but it is the carrying all that from the road and it has to be dry stored. I am going all electric when I get old!! immersion also on for 1 1/2 hours as the tank needed a good boost of heat all through. It is well insulated so I`ll be keeping it hot just in case as the hot water will boil quicker on my mini camping stove. I haven`t used the immersion for 5 days

I am off to fill the car and get some basics later ;)
  • I've got 1 1/2 bags of tealights, and various wind up torches. So we'll have light and warm baked beans over tealights. I'll get the grillpan out to put tealights in & put the grill rack sideways over so it's high enough to burn the candles underneath (just pulled it out to try it with a candle

another really good idea :)..I`m going to try that with my deep roasting tin and the rack upside down. I think I`ll get some tea lights today
