They are a cut price company and may well take the full time to deliver your items. The Tracking number should have been given to you in the email sent by CoS.
The charge of £5 per delivery for any order means they won't make much profit from the delivery, as the driver will get between £1-£2 and the rest goes to cover the cost of sorting and transporting it around.

Worth an email to Hermes whilst you wait for your 28 days to be up.

Thanks my 28 days have been and gone and not tracking number for Hermes but thanks for the info have emailed them anyway, see if they can find my parcel.:T

I am so loving my fire :D I know I bang on about it :o but its so lovely to sit in a hot living room knowing that most of what I burn is free - I do top up with coal but thanks to the folks on this thread, I have sourced that MUCH cheaper. Wood comes free from a friend although I have to cut it up myself and do worry that I might saw up my leg/toes.... Not very MSE if I can't work

:T i fear i may become your echo!! :rotfl:

we're running it tonight for a longer period, but still only 2 small logs at a time... then we will build it up and there'll be no stopping us! Happy co-incidence that OH is off getting his chainsaw ticket this week (for work, long overdue), so that will help us out no end. but i am so worried for his limbs!

i've been going when i can to the local community woodland project, they let me keep what i cut (and a bit more!) as they can't sell kindling and stove sized bits for some reason, and it will stop the local so-and-sos setting light to the wood piles.

however, i've come upstairs to check on the puter (slow updates) and have a shower, and it feels freezing compared to downstairs! 2029.gif
*good job the boiler is dodgy and the hot water comes more reliabily when the heating is on! tee hee! then i'll be back in the dining room, cosied up, all toasty :)mornincoffee.gif

    Evening folks

Just had a lovely gift from a friend up the road - over a dozen barely used, almost new M&S/Next towels!! :j They even go with my bathroom, and include 2 or 3 bath mats! :D One thing I desperately need is new towels as ours are ancient and even tumble drying doesn't help. Her DH and I were talking about winter prep, including the cost of drying towels, and I said I was going to buy new ones. Well, he remembered this when she said she was going to get rid of them, suggested she gave them to me - what a lovely pair! Think a bottle of my precious bramble vodka may find its way into their stocking!

Does it show that I don't get out much? :rotfl:

    A xo

Frugal - can you not just get a USB mouse to use with your laptop? I have one and use it most of the time (unless I am actually using my laptop on my lap which isn't a good idea from the point of view of electromagnetic radiation or posture!)

Its an idea but I use the lappy on my lap so a mouse wouldn't really work.....

I wish it would as I am working overtime this week to pay for Xmas but its likely I will need to buy a new laptop....

Any ideas, please let me know xx

frugal, when i had a laptop i had the same issue, so i used a little usb plug in mouse - sometimes i used it resting on a book on the arm of the chair! but mostly i used a flat piece of MDF, wrapped in old newspaper and taped so no rough edges, like a lap tray but with no lips round the edge, so the laptop sat on that and i used the spare space alongside for the mouse.

    Good evening all!

i dont have a snow shovel either! But i dont plan on getting one- if the snow gets that bad (which i doubt it will down here) then i'll just stay at home all nice and warm!:p
Its actually been quite warm here today, but maybe thats because i am wearing leggings, PJ bottoms, a vest top, a PJ top, knee high socks, fluffy slippers and a dressing gown, and am sat under a nice fleecy blanket!:D

Hi Almond, I don't live in Nairn but have lots of family and friends there. Is there a Facebook link about it? I could then post it on my FB page for them to see. I really feel for the owner - that is such a shame. x

Hello ninnoodle - I've joined the facebook thread so here is the link:

A wireless mouse can be used almost anywhere - I sometimes sit on my settee with my laptop on my knee and the mouse on the arm of the settee.

A laptop with a touchpad may not be the solution - my laptop does have a touchpad and resting my hand on the edge of the computer as I used the pad resulted in nerve damage that was just as bad as RSI.

I ended up using something like this:

    http://www.return2fitness.co.uk/Supports_and_Braces/Wrist_Supports/carptun454

Mine is not this one, it's not as surgical looking but has the same concept - a tight fitting mitt with a solid, shaped splint from palm to wrist to keep the hand/wrist in a position that does not allow nerve damage, etc. There's no label on mine - think I cut it out - so I can't say where I got it from, but it really did the trick. After a while I was able to go back to not using it and now use it if I notice a bit of ache/tingling.

I feel from it they have washed their hands, as far as they are concerned they sent the things and if I haven't received them tough. So did try to phone again and was 39th in queue, and on an 0844 number that was not on, did try the alternative number given on say no to 0870 but all you get is a recorded message saying office hours are closed. So have informed them that if I do not either have a delivery date, actually received my goods or my money back by 1st Dec I will put in a transaction dispute with CC something I have never ever had to do.

Coopers are responsible to you for your delivery, Hermes are responsible to Coopers for any loss. It wouldn't take that long for delivery, demand your money back.

Hermes europe are a completely different section to Hermes home delivery, I don't think Coopers pay the extra for tracking.
Hermes would be checking if any item was out for delivery from 0ct 19th but only when Coopers make a query.
Worse than you think Annie, Coopers may charge £5 but some couriers only receive 45p:eek: although many receive 65p.
Stepladders have been the big selling item too.
