Trying to sell my car but with no luck!!

Your car trades at about £1,700, retail at around £2,700 but...and it's a big but - look at autotrader and benchmark your car and you'll see that a 3 door is up for a lot less and (slightly different model) here is one for just over £2k. These are the kind of comparisons a potential buyer will make within about 30seconds...HTH
hmmm, I'm starting to see what you all mean now. Am shocked at the car on auto trader, thought they might have asked a little more for it considering the mileage. I can see I'll have to be a lot more competitive on price now.0 -

Chris, there are some regional differences on car prices, and you will occasionally get someone who just wants rid of a vehicle, and prices it to sell quickly - as with a mate of mine who wanted rid of his dads car after dad's death, it was upsetting the family having it parked on the drive, so he priced it well below usual just to get a quick sale.
Don't know where you are, but I do think your price for the 7 y.o. Clio is a bit high for round here in the East Midlands. I think we all tend to over-value our own cars when it comes to selling, mindI try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0 -

There are lot of garages that sell mobility cars, I can give examples of garages where I live. You can get a car under 10 years old with only 20k miles and they sell for next to nowt. We are living in bad times now so get what you can afford to let it go for before it costs more and more to advertise etc. Rememver the mot is not there for ever so you will need to renew and tax etc.
If it was me I would put a sign inside the window and park it up and put on £1499 and see if it goes. All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.0 -

oh no, if it's in decent nik -assuming there is no rust coming thru anywhere and the inside isn't worn/tatty, and it's clean with MOT and Tax it should be able to raise more than £1499
Our 2004 peugeot 307 2l with 52k fetched £2,400, and that's an expensive car to tax. I'd expect not less than 2k for this.I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0 -
It's sad, but these things just aren't worth much. My mrs drives a 1.2 clio extreme on a 53 plate (3dr)- and looking around it seems I'd be lucky to get much more than a grand for the thing..seems stupid, it runs well and is in nice condition - but you just need to price it for students and 17year olds, really..0

Thanks easy, A garage offered £1500 part ex, which I thought was way too low. The cars in good condition so I don't see any problem asking around £2400 at the very least. Will let you all know the outcome when I hopefully sell it. Am from west yorkshire so guess its too high for the yorkshire people aswell:rotfl:0 -

How many would you like at £2k?
Guess your not in a hurry to sell it then. Seriously you will still have it in a month at that price. Do yo you really want to sell it? Why not keep it fo a few years if it is notgiving you any trouble?0 -
I can only agree with the view that your car is way overpriced.
You're talking a 7 year old car at the end of the day, the lack of interest tells it's own story.0 -
Oh..and just food for thought...we bought our clio in 2007 when it was just over 3 years old - and paid £3600 in a main dealer....0
