I occasionally wonder who thought it was a good idea to combine Japanese design flair and French engineering.
Obviously Nissan and Renault shareholders. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
It's good that you've had the complaint escalated but just for info, 4 fuel injectors (which sounds very unlikely but lets take their word for it) certainly isn't anywhere close to £2k of work!!0

they said the injectors are £500 each, and a little hunting on google shows thats not far off - crazy price.0

lol, yes it is an X-Trail, and no havent been anywhere near a bio diesel pump!
But, obviously cant vouch for the previous owner, hmm.
Its an 07 2.2Dci with 72k on the clock. Internally and externally its in perfect condition and all the trim and leather seats are 100% unmarked so it doesn't look like its had a hard life. It has a towbar but was assured it was just towing the occasional little trailer to the skip - but as my OP the clutch had to be replaced almost immediately. Its had a full Nissan main dealer history and with the 6 months warranty I thought i;d have no problems - how wrong I was.
If Nissan HW come back and say no, i have no other option than legal action i suppose.0 -
What is their justification for saying it's not under warranty? are they saying it's down to you?I am a mortgage adviser. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Although they have passed the case onto Nissan HQ, yes the Nissan dealer is categorically stating that fuel injectors are NOT covered by warranty and that I will have to pay in excess of £2000 to have them replaced, despite the fact we've only had the car under 6 months.
I'm obviously hoping that Nissan agree to have them replaced, and i'm even prepared to pay 1/4 of the price, but i'm left wondering what else it going to go wrong and am hunting for a warranty that covers everything!0
