My Tesco's never had them when they delivered (surprise surprise) so i dont know whether they've sold out across the country as they are so cheap or its another pricing mistake by them. It would be interesting to know if anyone managed to get them at this price.

Which Epson printers now supercede the discontinued R200 and R300?

We have the R300 brilliant printer (same inks as R200) I get a full 6 set of inks for £5-£6. My daughter just got the r265 (think that model is the new R200, costs £60 from SVP) with new type of ink, claria. Compatable full set (just come out) are £20

There have been a number of 200 series, 220 240,245 260, the 265 seems to be latest. Beware if you are replacing a faulty Epson as Epson bring out new models often and the only change seems to be the cartridge type. :rolleyes2

  • I have been delighted with the quality of prints from my R200 for the last four years. I, too, use the compatibles from Choice Stationery. They are far from the cheapest available, but I've found the quality of photographs printed with cheaper alternatives visibly poorer and one set even regularly leaked all over the page. I appreciate that cheap compatibles are fine for general use (printing out letters, web pages and the like) but can anybody recommend cheaper compatibles that produce proper photo-quality results when printing out photographs? It costs £20 for a full set from Choice Stationery, making the cartridges just over £3 each.

I know it generally works out cheaper to get a lab to print out 6x4 images, but my understanding is that it's more economical to print out larger sizes(A4) at home.

the r220 replaced the r200, but the r240 replaced the r220 ( but that doesnt use the same inks.

i have just paid £14.25 for 3 sets of ink ( 18 cartridges) from SVP.
they did a 99p shipping over the weekend too , just added a few disc and paper and 120gms paper.
