She's talking about October half tem next year 2012. That only gives 2011-2012 upto July.

Aw gawd, so she is. :o

That's a long way in advance for holiday companies to be sending out offers.

Essex is the week after that 29th Oct. I wouldn't risk it myself OP

Half term is nearly always around the last week of October so this should give you some indication (schools are also a little more flexible if some of the holiday needs to be outside this particular week).

Are you sure cos 29th Oct 2011 is a Saturday, or are you just being hopeful? :p

Usually Oct 1/2 term doesn't go into Nov, but back in 2007 I spotted that where we are (S.Yorks) Oct 1/2 term was a week later than most of the rest Of England starting w/c 29th Oct. Very excited I wonder if the holiday companies had spotted it, checked and no they hadn't. :T so I booked and knowing my kids wouldn't want to miss anything Halloween themed we went to Disneyland Paris then DH really wanted to set off on the Friday but our kids were in seperate Infant and Junior schools and his neice was coming with us who was at Secondary school. Amazingly all 3 schools had the Friday as inset day. :j I spent the week congratulating myself on having found a cheap break in school hols and being able to set off early without taking them out of school. Then it got to oct 31st and my kids moaned cos they weren't home to go trick or treating. (rolls eyes)

I was quite excited to see the same set of dates roll around again. Wondering if I could do same thing, but it seems like lots of areas are having that week off.

The last week of October. Last day of school 21st October and then back to school on Tuesday 1st November because the Monday is a bank holiday.
