any idea when half term is?

I have been sent an offer for a great prices holiday for oct 2012.
i am trying to work out when the half term will be - anyone been told yet?
i have tried my local council education dept, and the school itself, but they do not go past when they break up for summer next year.
We are in east london/essex if that helps?

the company seems to be concentrating on the week beg.22nd oct, since this years half term is the 24th, is this a fairly safe bet?
the offer will expire before it is announced it seems!
do i risk it?

have a look on your local council website, they will have a list of school holidays.

It should be on your local council website. Have you googled 'term dates 2011-2012 (insert your county)'?

It may be not be the same in all counties, you need to check your own, or at least put here which county you are in.

thanks guys, but i'm in barking and dagenham, and the website only goes to when they break up in july.... trust us to be slow!

Our county council (east lindsey - lincolnshire) have only just released our dates past july next year.... (although they have released 2 years worth) ours actually break up on thurs 25th Oct (2012). So they're not the only slow ones out there

Our schools break up on fri 26th Oct next year - our secondary school had all the term dates for this academic year and next, on their website ages ago!
As an aside and rather bizarrely, the summer term (2013) finishes on a Monday!

Have you tried looking on a local school website it may be on there. Or do what I did and emailed my son's school when it wasn't showing on their website calendar.

Just had a look on my sons school website and it is saying: Autumn break: Monday, 29 October to Friday, 2 November 2012 but we are in Kent.

It tends to be the last week of October but I would double check on your childs' school website or with the council.
