    ...........
the movie has been rated 8.5 out of 10 by over 25,000 people in the US .....

Not sure that the opinion of the US is much to judge anything by.

    AMEN!

    Thank god you agree!

The other dude/dudette who said NEGATIVE REACTIONS about the movie - the movie has been rated 8.5 out of 10 by over 25,000 people in the US on a reputable, if not the best movie website.

I would check out a couple of trailers - there's a theatrical, teaser and a longer theatrical but none give the flick away

If if doesnt tickle your fancy - you will NOT enjoy it.

Your best bet would be to give them up to someone who will.

So a trailer has never been misleading? The only way you can judge a film is by actually watching the movie.
I was really looking forward to watching that movie, every time I went cinema and saw the trailer I was cracking up.

I was laughing up until the blood scene, then I felt it just descended into stupidness, and then they tried to tack a storyline on right at the end.
Getting there... A deal at a time. :T

I have never been asked for Id - but take a bank card or similar just in case. You just hand in your printout to the desk that you usually hand in your tickets to...and of you go!
I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes ;)

Trailers can always be misleading but unlike some people i actually research the flick im about to watch i.e. trailers, non-spoiler/negative reviews and 9 times out of 10 it pays to do that.

I totally dont expect you to do all this, because sometimes it can be fun to watch a movie by surprise.

But when we're talking about FREE tickets, i definately think that you should find out if the movie is going to be worth it.

As opposed to snapping up a couple of free seats for the sake of them being free and then walking out and/or complaining about the vulgar language.

I mean some people took their mother to the showing expecting it would be something less pornified.

This is Superbad, not Supergood or gone with the friggen wind.

Just take a few mins to read up before going.
  • Hi,

How does the seefilmfirst work? I presume some here have been to screenings. I live in Inverness, where none of the movies seem to be shown, but there was a showing of Borat just before it came out. I printed out the ticket, and phoned the cinema to make sure it was happening, and they knew nothing about it.

The reason I ask is that now Superbad is showing, and I'm not sure whether to just turn up and hope for the best......

Guffy, for me it's always been a case of just taking the print-out to the cinema and giving it to whoever is between the foyer and the screens (ie the same guy that everyone who is buying normal tickets gives them to to get ripped). The print-outs work just the same as a normal cinema ticket... Only the preview screenings don't have truckloads of adverts beforehand.

Agree 100% with this. It seems like people do snap up tickets purely because they're free - I've been tempted myself, but I've refrained so far, because I know I wouldn't fancy the likes of Atonement and I don't care enough about Yuma to even watch the trailer. Perhaps that will come back to bite me on the behind and I'll watch it on TV in five years and wish I'd seen it on the big screen, I don't know. But I don't sign up for tickets to films without knowing a thing about them.

OK, we agree on something! :T
I don't research, but I do watch trailers and knew there was no point me getting tickets for in the hands of God cause I'd fall asleep!
