Nope definately Graham. You may be thinking about heathcote.Graham_Devon wrote: »When people ask if I would reccomend shared ownership, it's hard to answer. My scheme is ok, has a few pitfalls, but nothing like the more recent schemes I have seen, which I seriously couldn't recomend.
If you wish to place a counter argument, best be prepared with your facts.
You seem to be increasingly rattling off spurious unsubstantiated drivell of late.:wall:

Sorry to break it to you lite, land reg says -2.6%.
Is it the end of the year yet?
What happened in last years 2nd half figures?
How will that affect the YOY percentage? So lets get this straight. The land reg average figures are meaningless, but nationwide alleviates your concerns. :rotfl:
Right you are then.
Such is the monthly game of Forum Numberwang.
Actually I do believe the LR figures are the most complete.
I don't run or change my position to suit unlike some.
Just so your clear, I'll go pull out the 2011 prediciton thread so you understand the terms of the prediction.
We'll see how yours fits in there as well.:wall:

Here it isIveSeenTheLight wrote: »Could I predict -1.5% for next year?
I know there a factors prediciting a modest fall of 5% for the next year, but putting -1.5% would figure in my thoughts that were pretty much in a stagnant period.
Just asked Cleaver to update with the 2011 predictions:wall:

See, I was just mentioning it cos heathcote only owns half his house.
You inferred that I was incorrect as I "may" be thinking of another poster.
I don't judge whether part ownership is a good or a bad thing.
If anything I have said it's positive as it means their further along the road to eventual ownership than a simple renterIveSeenTheLight wrote: »Graham_Devon wrote: »It's normally cheaper to buy a percentage of a shared ownership property, than it is to rent the same house. Mortgage plus rent is often a good 20-40% cheaper per month than simple rent.
Not true in all cases, but in most cases it's true.
So this allows you to have a better standard of living, or allows you to save more each month, compared to renting.
I'm not aware of the details but this makes sense.
In my experience buying is cheaper than renting so if your part buying, your moving further alone the scale between renting and buying and as such the benefits of being an owner.:wall:

As I noted just a few posts up from yours it is not.
See you in february then?
Still, strange that one minute you can be telling us how comfortable you are, then the next telling us theres still everything to play for.IveSeenTheLight wrote: »Actually I do believe the LR figures are the most complete.

Which is why I found it strange that you spend a wee bit of time poo-poohing the relevant of the UK Land reg averages, whilst simply infering that the UK Nationwide averages made you feel warm and fuzzy.IveSeenTheLight wrote: »Just so your clear, I'll go pull out the 2011 prediciton thread so you understand the terms of the prediction.

Knock yourself out.
It clearly matters to you.0 -

What the hell are you on about?
Your clearly in a world of your own
Where have I "poo-poohed" the relevance of the UK Land Reg averages?
I have on many occasions stated it's one index and if your serious about understanding property values, you need to have a much more local, focussed review of yourlocal market.
As the latest LR figures show, the average is -0.3%, whilst the diferent regions varied around this.
I clearly didn;t poo-pooh the information, I enhanced the understanding of it.:wall:
