What compensation do E.on pay when a customer complains about energy supply account problems?
Replies only please from fourmites who have experience with E.on, what the sum was and briefly what for?

When I used to work for E.on it was done on a case by case basis so it will vary considerably.
Also it depends on what the complaint is about - What issue in particular are you looking for compensation for?0 -
I recently had a mis-selling complaint with Eon when transferring my bills from previous supplier. The person who phoned said I would save between £200 - £300 a year by transferring. If anything my bills increased by these amounts.
Eon said they could refund all the bills I had paid and my previous supplier would bill me for the units used. I considered this to be a lot of hassle and asked for compensation.
£50 compensation was offered and I accepted.

Should just be credited to the eon bill then.0

The amount appeared on my Eon bill as a credit and it (almost) paid this month's energy bill.0

Hi Ogre De Flamme
Sorry to hear you've had problems with us. There are no set levels of compensation when we screw up.
As AppleMonkey says, each complaint is considered on its merits and, if appropriate, an award will be offered based on the particular circumstances of the individual case.
Sometimes compensation isn't given as a financial award but in the form of goods or services provided FOC. As I say, it depends on the circumstances and the requirements of individual customers.

I am an official company representative of E.ON. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"0 -

Hi, i recently got in touch with e.on as i was switched with out my permission. My signiture was forged and all i asked for was a quote.
I asked about compo but would like to know if i could get it and how much roughly? i wasn't happy at all as it cost mee twice as much on gas and electric as before.
:TThen received a letter stating i owed e.on money on pay as you go meters. When i later rang i found e.on owed me money. How many more people have this happened to, i have a right mind to take it rather but i don't like causing trouble... Would be gratefull for a answer soon as.0 -
Hi tonib85
I'm sorry your account was switched without your permission.
This sounds like what's known as an Erroneous Transfer. This is where one supplier takes over a supply by mistake or without the customer's permission.
If this is the case, the supplier who has taken the account incorrectly must return it to the original supplier.
Also, they must return it without charging the customer for the period they supplied. In other words, the account must go back as though it had never left.
Is this what's happened to you? If not, ask for this process to be implemented.
Hope this helps tonib85. Give me a shout if I can help further as will be happy to do so.

Hi tonib85
We don't have any set rules when it comes to compensation.
Rather, each case is considered on its individual merits. If appropriate, a manager may make an award but only after they've investigated the particular circumstances of the case in question.
May I ask, did this situation arise as a result of a visit by one of our sales reps?
If it was, were you asked to sign a touch screen computer the size of a laptop?
From your posts, I'm assuming you refused to sign any such thing but the transfer went ahead regardless. Is this the case?
If it is, then we need to follow a particular path, as this will be considered to be a fraudulent sale.
You need to contact us asap and ask for a sales complaint to be raised giving full details of the circumstances.
Any agent can start the ball rolling. Drop an email to the address in my Profile if you prefer and I'll happily kick start the process.
The complaint will be taken over by a specialist team who will speak directly to you and conduct a full investigation.
If this situation didn't come about as above but was more to do with misinterpreting a phone conversation, then my previous comments about an erroneous transfer may be more relevant.
Either way, it's important you talk to us so we can start to put things right.

Hi malc,
The rep that was going door to door, stopped at mine as there was someone he knew there and i spoke to him and he said e.on was cheaper but i wasn't on his computer at the time but will send a quote. I didn't sign anything. I've spoken to Emma in the complaints department and she's been very helpful. A full investigation is being done and i had a signiture verication bloke come out and turns out i defently didn't sign anything. The signiture they had on file was completly different to mine.
Just can't believe i was signed over like that (and it cost me twice as much whiles on e.on), all i asked for was a quote to see if it was cheaper, everyone likes saving money.
Just wanted to see if i could get compensated and get more info just feel like i'm in the dark abit thats all.
Thanks for everything so far though.
